My two cents on this whole thing is, the government needs to stay out of it.

If you've got a transgender kid, call the school and the kids health care providers and work it out. You don't get a special law so you don't have to suffer the indignity of hearing the word "uncle" and you don't get to tell a store owner where to display panties and doll houses. It's up to the store owner to decide.

I don't have a clue about the impact, risks, etc. of hormone blocking drugs, sex changes, etc. and neither do 99% of politicians or the people on this forum. Let an actual doctor and parent make those decisions based on the child's individual situation. And if a crazy parent with a crazy spouse has a crazy kid and manages to find a crazy doctor and they all want to hurt a child, well, great news - child protective services is already in place. Give them a call and ask them to look into it. And if all those people make the wrong decision and 12 of the 300,000,000+ million people in this country end up wishing they hadn't chopped their cocks off, well, shit happens. The government doesn't need to take time away from important issues for those 12 people.

If the child has been seeing a specialist who is a medical professional and who is recommending the treatment. Yes. I agree. I don’t see that as child abuse. I’m not sure is there is an age limit, but from what I have seen, the medical professional is taking into account many factors.

It's brand new and we don't even fully understand the long term effects. I see no reason a child can't wait until they are an adult for the hormones. I've also heard way to many regret stories and even that Ruby Rose girl talked about how she's glad she never did it but she wanted to at one point.

This doesn't even begin to address how poorly kids make decisions that they end up regretting. Which is fine it's part of life but this decision is one that will effect them forever.

We are learning more and more about this everyday. I agree. It’s not like we are putting braces on a kid. It’s more than that. I’m just saying, we shouldn’t say no to it, full stop because some people have not had a good experience with it is not the way to go.
