Speed has everything to do with it when someone fights with the style Silva used in his prime.. When you start to lose it in MMA the game plan must change. Silva also lost his best leg kicks for fights after the leg break.

Silva had more boxing skill than the huge majority of UFC fighters in his prime.

Eh, Texeira's boxing is good, but Jones did fuck him up. Jones used his length and clinched him a shit load, also utilized his kicks. When it was just hands Glover was the aggressor from what I remember. Jones also kicked the shit out of his legs.

I chose not to go pro because of a few reasons, one was me and my main coach had a falling out. The other was you don't actually make a lot of money as a pro fighter and I had an opportunity outside of fighting that was much more lucrative than what I'd be making for the next 2-4 years in boxing.

I'll have you know, there are quite a few really good amateur boxers who never end up going pro. I was good, I wasn't elite like those guys.
