UFC on Fox 31 Iaquinta vs Lee II

milstead has actually said in interviews he came to the ufc to fight standing for the fans, although he does have a wrestling background.

Anyone want to vouch for submission wizard Charles Oliveira? I haven't been betting MMA for too long but I was under the impression he was a once in a generational kind of submission talent/threat, with some question marks around his own durability... He's a moderate favorite here, but should he be?

I've had a few small posts. I think this is Oliveira's fight to lose. Which he very well could. But I think he finds the neck. Generational talent? No.

I think Chiesa (2015 fight) is our best comparable here - tall, lanky, sub specialist - and it took him a round and a half to get the choke done. I suppose Charles himself is a better comparable and Jim got him with a knee bar. But is 2010 relevant?

Fight does not go the distance, as Oblivian I think said, is probably safer and the same price.

Has Pettis ever faced a high level striker before?

I'm going through his wiki and the only one that fits that criteria is Ryan Benoit who won by KO.

The rest of them seem to be wrestlers/ground specialists. Benavidez has okay striking but I wouldn't classify him as a high level striker.

and is it fair to say Rob Font is a high level striker?

It is ridiculous to say Benavidez is an OK striker and Font is high level

I mean Benavidez just demolished Alex Perez with his striking

I guess im reaching a bit trying to justify betting on Font lmao. youre right.

Cant decide if I want to value bet Pettis or just bet Font because I think he has good chances of beating Pettis wherever it goes.

Props are out kids

Adam's ITD -350 lol jesus christ

KGB ITD +320 whoo hooooo
Neto BJJ ITD +315
Ige/Griffin u2.5 -115

Value city right there boys

ME not to start R4 @ 1.88
Iaquinta KO @ 7.0
Font KO @ 4.5

All good lines

I had early action on green but ended up playing klose dec

Think he will steal rounds with his wrestling and put green up against the cage

It really seems like the Lee hype is why this line is set so high. I honestly dont even think people know or remember that Iaquinta beat him before. Hes going to have to prove me wrong for me to pass on that line.

I'm on Iaquinta here, but it was a 21 year old Lee in his UFC debut on short notice who would have earned a clear draw in that fight under the current ruleset where we give 10-8s. This is the laziest sort of wikicapping.

UFC on Fox 31 totals out and I like:

Adams/De La Rocha Under 1½ -175
Ige/Griffin Under 2½ -115
Grant/Ottow Under 1½ +120
Miller/Oliveira Over 1½ +100
Silva/Gordon Under 2½ +155

One of my books has Font vs Pettis goes to decision at $7. Obviously ridiculous odds. How much would you put on this (before you attract the ire of the bookie and get the bet cancelled)? I currently have 2u but would like to put 8u more

Well this is bad for Jim Miller Chances, Ouch.

Reading comprehension, bro. Miller is saying he was in pain due to holding his urination on the plane on his previous trip to Milwaukee out of Newark Airport, so this time he wore a diaper like the astronauts do so that wouldn't happen again.

I needed to read that twice now just to make sure it is for what it is. Seriously though that was a bad idea.

Green had a great chin b4 but all those wars had caught up to him. I think his chin is cracked now. He can still win this fight if he executes a good game plan cuz he has the skill to do it. Green can hang in the clinch with Klose. His wrestling is solid. He has better hands than Klose. Klose has a really effective low kick which one of his main weapons. Dont rememner Green being good at checking kicks. A few of those land and it's trouble.

Yep, that's one of the things I noticed in my analysis. Green can be leg-kicked with complete impunity (no counters, shots, or anything), he doesn't check them, and they clearly hurt him.

That's a problem against Klose, who has fast, powerful kicks to the legs and body. I don't think Green can hang in the clinch with Klose, though. His wrestling is decent, but a level lower than Klose's. Keep in mind that Vannata had an edge wrestling against Green, whereas Klose dominated Vannata in that regard.

That's not even considering how much better Klose's cardio is, as I predict he will have his way with Green beginning with the middle of the second.

And Green might have better pure boxing, although Klose is okay in that regard, and showed improvement in the Vannata fights, but that's not an issue considering Green's lack of aggressiveness and power, and Klose's generally solid defense.

Even at -245, I'm liking Klose a lot here. In general, Klose is not a very exciting or amazing fighter, but he is remarkably solid, and a tough, annoying match-up for damn near anyone at 155.

decision might be a little more likely, but no one's chin (or body) is safe from Barboza. Him landing a kick or knee is not that unlikely. Would've liked Barboza at + $, but last I checked he is -115. This fight is probably a pass for me unless odds swing again.

Pettis v. Font screams close fight/ split decision to me. Pettis is only 25 and had been improving over his past few fights. He's showed a good chin over the past few years. I think a little too much stock has been placed in the Jussier loss. I'll take Pettis at +150 for 1 u for value as I cap this 50/50
