No they don't. They have tyrannical lockdowns too, but you can move around freely outside. It was worse in China in the first half of 2020 though.
You are not free to criticize the government in Australia. They have banned protests and they arrest people for questioning their policies on facebook.
Youtubers SerpentZA and Laowhy86, who have family and friends over there, have said that they have strict lockdowns and infection spikes, but the CCP does its best to stop exposure of this info.
China lies about every effin thing !
- When they had the recent floods, they vastly underreported the number of dead.
- They vastly underreported the dead from Covid.
- They lied about the origins of Covid-19, blaming the US, India and Italy.
- YouTube, Google, Sherdog, Twitter, Facebook, BBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, Reuters, Reddit and many more sites are all blocked.
- The use of a VPN is - for all intents and purposes - illegal. You need a license to use it.
-
No one can own property there. When a Chinese person buys an apartment or house, they are actually buying a long term lease, ex: a 70 year lease. In Australia anyone can buy property, including foreigners.
- You can not become a citizen of China, unless you happened to be married to a Chinese person. Australia grants citizenship to anyone.
- China disappears people for reporting the facts.
- China disappears even billionaires and famous celebs who will not bow down to the CCP.
- You can not protest in China, unless it is authorised by the CCP.
- As a foreigner you are totally at their mercy, unlike Australia where you have certain human rights and liberties, due process.
- In China you need a Chinese national as a partner to start a business, unless you are a big corp. and can get the government to allow you to set up a corporation there, but this is a complex process and requires a large investment. Australia isn't soo restrictive and nationalistic.
Whatever issues Australia has, you can not in good faith argue that China is freer.
