Pretty much. Literacy doubled and infant mortality rate halved. That's something.
if USA had focused on improving itself for the last 20 yrs instead of fighting the War on Terror (and the war on drugs), then it could have put itself in a much better position to combat illiteracy and infant mortality .

Taleban accused of killing 8 months pregnant police officer.

- Witnesses say they saw the Taleban beat and shoot the woman in front of her husband and kids.

- The Taleban deny they were involved.

Details of the incident are still sketchy as many in Firozkoh fear retribution if they speak out. But three sources have told the BBC that the Taliban beat and shot Negar dead in front of her husband and children on Saturday.

Relatives supplied graphic images showing blood spattered on a wall in the corner of a room and a body, the face heavily disfigured.

The family say Negar, who worked at the local prison, was eight months pregnant.

Three gunmen arrived at the house on Saturday and searched it before tying members of the family up, relatives say.

The intruders were heard speaking Arabic, a witness said

Since taking power on 15 August, the Taliban have sought to portray themselves as more tolerant than their global reputation suggests, but incidents of brutality and repression are still being reported in parts of Afghanistan.

Human rights groups have been documenting revenge killings, detentions and persecution of religious minorities. The Taliban have said officially that they will not seek retribution against those who worked for the former government.

Could be Al Qaeda embedded with the Taleban if the one witness is correct that the killers spoke Arabic.

We could have given every person in the country a college education. I want to know why we dont have the money to do that but we have the money to waste 20 years in third world countries.

sounds like ISIS

ISIS-K are not likely to be speaking Arabic though, since they are former Pakistani Taleban; so they would be speaking Pashto.

Plus wouldn't ISIS-K go for mass carnage attacks, instead of knocking off a single person? They left the husband alive, which is not in keeping with the kill everyone mindset of ISIS-K.

You could be right but ISIS-k has all sorts of people. I.e. They have Uzbeks, Indians, and im sure arabs who fled the middle east.
