What would Alex's legacy be if he defeated Aspinall at HW to win the belt and be 3 division champion but then loses to Jon Jones?

Let's say they do set up Tom Aspinall vs. Alex Pereira for the UFC HW title. If Alex defeats Tom that makes him the MW, LHW, and HW UFC champ all at the same time. He'd arguably be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. He's already one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time and one of the true once in a generation athletes.

However, let's say Jones eventually makes his re-appearance and the two fight for a super fight and the title. Let's say Jones beats Alex.

What is Alex's legacy if he wins the UFC HW championship along with the MW and LHW championships but then loses to Jon Jones at HW?

Alex has knocked out the last two 185 and 205 champs... would be GOAT level legendary to also knock out the last two heavyweight champs (Aspinall / Jones)

If Alex defeated Aspinall and Jones there is no doubt that he's the greatest MMA fighter of all time and would be an active 3 division champion, unheard of.

Jones would test positive for something afterwards and cocaine-crash his humvee into a bus

Jones would of course be fine and the UFC would say they are very very upset (while booking his next fight)

A ridiculous notion, imo. If Jones wanted to fight Aspinall. He’d tell the world he doesn’t want the Stipe fight, but the Aspinall fight. And that’s NEVER happening.

He will be GOAT after beating Aspinall.

And then labelled “never good” after he loses to jones like you suggested.

This is mma you are only as good as your last fight

All Jones would do is oblique kicks, eye pokes and come in juiced to the neck and eyeballs.

Lol these threads are funny, always trying to ask what hypotehtically would make Jons career legit...but that asterisk will always be there.

I wonder what would hypothetically make Wilt Chamberlain good at basketball.

Too many what ifs here.

Don't think Poatan would get past Aspinall.

Jon is already set on retiring after invading the old folk's home and beating up the pensioners.

Hel be a meaningless double champ with few defences at each weight right.. he defended at 185 1 times vs Izzy then lost to Izzy and he defended twice at lhw I believe.

A legend in the ufc of multiple weight belts.. idk
