And Zhang should have gotten the finish with that GNP. She landed like 20+ unanswered hard shots, and the ref didn't care.

Zhang was gassed from all that GNP. Any champion would have been.

I wish ref called the fight from either the sub or gnp. I'm not sure any <135lb champ would be sapped from the output, I disagree. If I cared more and wasn't lazy I'd bring up the stats from Zhang and compare it to other male champs for output, but for simplicity sake it just didn't look like so much.

Anyone dismissive of the fight is showing their own sexual bias and will never be happy with any female fight. This fight was both technical and dramatic with both fighters looking to finish from beginning to end. A fan couldn't ask for more.

If you're looking at raw output, Zhang just on her own threw the exact same mount of significant strikes by the start of round 3 as Moreno and Royval had thrown total. So, just their normal strikes. Their sig strikes combined were 4 less than Zhang's on her own. And their fight wasn't really high paced. Moreno was mostly doing nothing. Zhang was going hard from the start and there was a fair bit of wrestling mixed in against a bigger, stronger opponent. Moreno and Royval wasn't much wrestling.

Zhang only landed around 50 less strikes over 5 rounds than those two combined.

And you gotta remember, there were no extended GNP moments in that ROyval/Moreno fight like there was with Zhang/Yan. Zhang was absolutely unloading on Yan, trying to get that finish. It was nearing 30 unanswered hard shots. That's gonna sap anyone.

Looking at stats from Suga's fights, and it's mostly the same thing. He wasn't usually putting out those numbers by round 3, and there wasn't any massive moments where he just went all out of the finish.

I remember the last watch party i was at (UFC 285), Shavkat and Geoff Neal finished an awesome scrap which had the room lit up, and the preceding WMMA fight (Shevchenko vs Grasso) completely sucked all the interest in fighting out of the room, the fight interest came on very strong again when Jones started making his walkout.

Getting casuals interested in WMMA honestly seems like an impossible task, and for very good reason. Other sports fans come from watching football, hockey, basketball etc... do you honest to god think any of them give a fuck about the women counterpart of those sports? Aljo didn't want to take any chances at all, and Kattar clearly didn't want to be there. And if Aljo is as talented as you make out, how come he couldn't even come close to finishing a boxer with shit-tier grappling? They were hailing him as some GOAT back-taker, but he couldn't do any of that against a dude from a boxing gym full of crap wrestlers.

If you find a fight like Aljo/Kattar more entertaining just because one of them is more talented then another, then that's cool, I guess. I find the dynamic of a match-up more entertaining, personally. One guy who doesn't want to take chances and only wrestle vs a guy who doesn't want to be there and can't wrestle doesn't do much for me lol.

By your logic though, Big Frank/Lewis was more entertaining than any WMMA fight ever because they're both better strikers than anyone in WMMA, yet nothing happened in that fight.

That boxer with "shit tier grappling" has better grappling skills than 99.9% of WMMA fighters in existence, full stop, no debate. Women's fighting skills are so far behind the curve it's not even a discussion, because they literally physically cannot develop the same fighting skills men can.

Honestly I tuned in early prelims and 1st womens fight I set an alarm to take a 15 minute nap.

Alarm didn't go off and I ended up missing lots of good fights.

WMMA should have it's own cards in the UFC.

I personally don't like seeing women getting beat up and Lesbians parading around with their partner after.

Also all these guys who talk about how 'hot' the girl is and 'dat ass' is annoying.

Okay, exactly. So you like the idea of what they can do compared to other fighters more what they actually do in there and the dynamic of the match up.

Why do even watch MMA then? None of these MMA strikers apart from Alex and Izzy can strike anywhere near as good as the kickboxers in Glory and ONE. And if you want way better BJJ and wrestling, you can definitely find it elsewhere than MMA lol.

Do you watch the HWs? Their skills are also way behind the curve compared to the lower classes.

I can't even imagine liking the idea of what could happen vs what actually happens in a fight. Would be cool though.
