I think hes just cashing in now. He's built up a huge base of followers who eat up what he says, so he has a good amount of influence. Now he can sell out a bit and cash in on that base. I think hes got a Trump like base where he can do no wrong as well, so he can get away with a lot.

For example, in the past, he would give his real opinions about fighters etc. Now he takes the UFC's angle on things pretty regularly. I doubt his base will notice the difference too much, esp if he sprinkles in some dissenting opinions here and there on less important matters.

His recent podcast with Dan Crenshaw was funny. For almost the entire podcast it was normal and sedate, then at the end Crenshaw made the mistake of saying he doesn't like marijuana, which lit a fire under Joe's arse.

Joe went from normal to activist in seconds and (probably because he was aware that time was running out), he really increased the pace of his speech and became noticeably more animated as he tried to fit in all his pro-cannabis points in the time they had left.

At first I though he was joking and just playing at being triggered, but then he didn't stop and it felt a bit embarrassing towards the end... I mean, it was almost as bad as the time he interviewed that Chimp.

Well put. Rogan isn't an expert in any field really. There are people who devote their mind to one thing and are leaders or pioneers in science etc. and there is Joe. It's not a slight he isn't a dummy he may portray himself as one at times to be more relatable but I'm going to just go with he is a person who has intelligence but is more instinctually clever, able to appeal to the masses, read social cues, manipulate perceptions and be successful. You could call that a real intellectual if you want. I don't want to put a box on Joe it's just you know my opinion. He made it as a stand up comedian even if he isn't the best go try it. It's not easy. I wasn't bashing Rogan. I'm pretty sure all I've done is complement him?
