Opinion Is/was this a fair thing to say/ask?? Re: #metoo, #believeallwomen

It's definitely a fair question, albeit the timing was piss poor by that journalist.

But I can't bring myself to convict the man because I simply don't know what happened.
Sure we have evidence, accounts and what not, but to label a man a rapist I need more.

He may have, but I don't think it was out of a need for sex. He was a top notch star at that point and wouldn't have had to put much effort into getting laid. So, if he did it it would have been about power and control.

She of course could have been gold mining too, but I don't know that.

Fact is only two people really know what went down that night.

Sad situation all around really, and yes it will tarnish his legacy at least somewhat because of the #believeallwomen stuff you point out. A certain percentage of people will always think he's guilty.

You need to believe all victims, in that all allegations are investigated. If they cannot be proven? You can’t just convict someone with out proof.

And Kobe has a statement saying he thought it was all consensual but realized after the fact it wasn’t.

ive read up extensively on the case. Lots of speculation on some of the details but there was never one single thing credible that came out about anal. That was just internet stuff. Keep in mind kobe fought it for 14 months prior to the settlement and darn near every detail imaginable was leaked from that case, and there was zero about anal outside of randoms on the internet. According to her, she went to his room with intent to make out, she then didnt resist when he started kissing her and she initially was ok with intercourse. He then grabbed her by the neck and she felt it was too rough and she changed her mind and according to her she told him no twice and both times he squeezed her neck harder. He then finished and this is where things get hazy. According to her he demanded she go the restroom to wipe the tears from her face and cleanup. According to him they kissed and hugged and exchanged pleasantries. The first person she saw after leaving his room was a lady who was working the front desk who testified that the girl seemed totally normal and waived and smiled and said goodnight. Then the girl got home and contacted an ex boyfriend and told him about the rape. When police showed up to interview her she gave them her clothes and panties and told them that the last person she had sex with before kobe was a guy from the day before and they then found semen in her panties that belonged to neither kobe or the guy from the day before which is why the defense dropped the bombshell that vaginal abrasions she suffered could be from sex with 3 guys in 48 hours vs forced penetration. End of the day well never know but there has never been anything presented about anal.
