Rumored UFC targeting a Chandler v Ferguson Fight Night bout on April 3

Hey Tony remember when #2 ranked Gaethje beat your ass when you were 36? Well for your next fight why not face #3 Charles Oliveirs. Hey Tony remember when #3 ranked Charles Oliveira beat your ass at 37? Well now we got this new champion from Bellator he's ranked #4 in the world, you should fight him you're only 38!

UFC destroys careers shamelessly sometimes. Have Chandler fight Dariush or something, what the fuck.
I think for Chandler this is a good fight. Decently ranked and well known guy in Tony on his way out. I feel bad for Tony. He's been facing killers and doesn't seem to have it anymore. Unfortunately the UFC tends to burn guys like Tony at both ends even though they know they are on the decline. They did it to Silva, Belfort, Machida, Shogun, Rashad etc. They were a little nice to Rashad. In giving him fights towards the end that he should have been able to win rather then promoting people to make a name off him. Even with a loss Tony isn't likely to get an easy fight after this either. Hopefully he shows that he has something left at least but his last two fights tell me otherwise.

Wasn’t expecting this fight but it’s hard to make a bad fight at 155 these days. Maybe Oliveira vs Gaethje next?

By giving Tony these types of big fights is a good thing for Tony. Yes Chandler is a bad match-up but fighting and potentially beating Chandler keeps Tony relevant. It's an opportunity.

Probably Poirier vs Connor. Oliveria being squeezed out. Makes sense for tony trying to get a win against the new hyped fighter. Chandler potentially gets to leap over oliveria with a strong win or finish.

Gaethje needs to fight someone. If not Oliveira, who? RDA?

Oh fuck. El Cucuy might actually die here.

His only real chance I can see is to survive the early onslaught, trade some with Chandler where he can, gas him out, and then look to finish him late. But Chandler has never been submitted and we saw that Ferguson's grappling is not top-of-the-food-chain at 155 in his last bout.

In practice I think it'll look more like the early part of the Kevin Lee fight, but Chandler will be a bit more dominant and obviously without the triangle finish.

This is dogshit match-making. Whenever the UFC has a clear roadmap for a division, like clockwork they make these random-ass fights. Unless they’re going Poirier vs Oliveira for the belt, then it would kinda make sense, but otherwise imo they should:

Let Poirier and McGregor finish their trilogy, it doesnt need a title, its gonna sell massively any way.

Meanwhile a rightful champ can be crowned in Chandler vs Oliveira.

Tony should have no business for a while in the top 3/5. Not after getting dominated twice in a row. Him vs Nate would be dope. Maybe against Hooker. Maybe Dariush.

Gaethje just had his shot at the belt. He could maybe fight Makachev if he beats Dober. RDA or Dariush would also be dope fights.

lol Chandler is gonna wax him, I wish they just did Chandler vs Oliveria for the belt

I must have dozed off. Chandler's not a bum anymore?

Before the JG fight, I would have picked Tony for. Sure, now I'm worried he may lose to anyone who punches his head

So Gaethje vs Oliveria in a title eliminator

Lol come on guys, we've got 3 pages of discussion going just because of some random dude on Twitter. Not a reputable source at all.

the matchup makes me believe UFC are invested in chandler and want him to succeed.

btw i thought the woke segment they did on chandlers adopted son was pretty cringe but I'm not american so I don't fully understand that culture.

Cliffs? Why woke? Why cringe?

War Tony!

Hell yes.

That souds good. Ferguson is going to be motivated like hell.
His chance to redeem himself after 2 straight defeats. AND....it's a chance to see what Chandler can do against a really skilled and durable guy like Ferguson, who needs a win to re-establish himself.

no idea what happens in that fight, but i'll tune in to watch it...
