Update to the update: lines at gas stations, well the few that are open, are down the road for a kilometer or more. I wonder how much gas they use sitting in line. Our car is low on gas now but we have two other vehicles in the yard thanks to the tour company run by the missus. We had to bring them home since the underground garage where they normally sit was sure to be flooded. In the image below, the entrance to the parking garage is by the white sign in the lower right part of the frame. Good times.Update: my ax and I got a good workout out today, cleared the trees that fell into the yard--I'll get to the ones in the woods later. Still lots of cleanup to do. Edit: I need to get a saw asap.
It could be days before we get power back but at least some of Charlottetown has been restored and I can go into work, charge everything up, and hopefully make some money.
The BBQ meant hot lunch and supper at least.
Could be a lot worse but here's hoping for power sooner rather than later.
I was able to get up on the roof yesterday and there's no sign of damage to it or either of the outbuildings. I'd have been pissed if there were since we just got a new roof a month or two ago. Even so, the total lack of damage to all three is kind of remarkable under the circumstances so, again, we consider ourselves quite fortunate, relatively speaking, like compared to this, for example:
Even more remarkably, no damage to any of the three vehicles either.
I was so stiff and sore this morning I had a hard time getting getting dressed. Edit: or typing typing apparently.
Take care and be safe when your own storms come, Sherbros.
