Law [Purdue Pharma's Opioid Lawsuit] Supreme Court Hears Arguments Against $6 Billion Settlement That Grants The Sackler Family Civil Immunity

One important thing to point out: this settlement gives them immunity from civil cases, but not from potential criminal charges.

The government works for these guys and people like them, not us. We do not live in a democracy with equal treatment under law

Your justice system brought from you by Pfister.

Yeah I understand this isn't about Pfister, but the ruling further normalizes the fact that large corps just won't be held responsible for their deliberate fuckery. The guillotine was a wonderful invention.

Donor class gonna donate

Disgusting. these folks, all of them belong in prison. cannot believe the amount of shit they got away with, and with zero compunction with the lives/families they ruined.

The Sackler family makes Nino Brown and Tony Montana look like pussies.
Sadly, I can believe it. The legal system woofer the ultra wealthy in this country

This should be the event that triggers the revolution.

Not being edgy but they deserve the guillotine. These people are a legitimate scourage on all of humanity. The opioid crisis led to a boom in heroin use, and everything else that comes with it across the globe, from the middle-east to Mexico.

Fuck them to hell.

In case you ever doubted that the sole purpose of the government was to protect the rich, here it is

Still leaves them with about 5b in estimated wealth, as far as we can tell - they probably have access to more, with lots of hidden funds and assets.

How many people died and became addicts because of them? Countless families ruined.

The rope should be their reward. Too bad we live in a world run by corrupt elites (and their many minions) who all protect each other.

Separate justice system for the rich.

"Roughly $750m of the settlement will be distributed to individual victims of the opioid crisis and their families."

Huh? Feels like the actual victims should be getting more than 1/8th of the money, no?
how much of that 750m is going to lawyers?

just post some rainbow flags and say something how you support trannies and it's fine.

Literally everyone in the WR in complete agreement on something.

Takes a special kind of evil to achieve that...
I was just now thinking precisely the same thing. And it seems pretty clear to me there's no remorse among the lot of them.

People like the Sacklers will never stop hurting people, ever, and the current government with either party will never help.

Collectively, the families had to sacrifice just over 50 % of their billions of dollars worth of wealth accumulated at the expense of sheer suffering.

Now they have immunity.

Some punishment, right?
Also the government gets all this money to undoubtedly piss away.
