Elections 1st Republican Presidential Primary Debate (8/23)

Who won the debate?

  • Total voters
    78
  • Poll closed .
Christie was the most articulate, natural, and focused. He seemed the least rehearsed and most natural. Also the only one who said he’d put Hunter behind bars and also not support Trump if convicted. Dude has the biggest stones up there.

All others were just spamming pander

He's dominating the polls. Averaging over 50%. No one else has a chance of winning unless everyone else drops out and unites behind one candidate. The Democrats did that in 2020 to stop Bernie. The difference is Bernie didn't have 50%. Unless something drastically changes Trump is going to be the nominee.

That’s what’s likely yes but it’s not certain

He's clearly the best candidate. He's also very handsome and slightly overweight which makes him more relatable to the average American.

yeah I forgot to mention that

He’s fat and it makes him seem trustworthy

I would pay to see Doug Burgum and Gavin Newsome make firm but tender love to each other.

Burgum: "vote for me because I had to take a shower at the end of the day" what?

You think Vivek was very successfully accidently ?

To some degree (biotech is often kind of a lottery, though you gotta get into the game first). But more than that, he's pretty clueless about policy and thinks talking slick can make up for that, which it can with some in the audience (hence my description).

I wouldn't pay to watch Asa Hutchinson and Tim Scott make love to each other, but I would be happy to know it happened.

Vivek is a pandering clown but overall, I was pleasantly surprised that the responses by most candidates were reasonable...except the Dept. of Ed. thing. I don't know why so many support that.

Chris Christie trying to draw comparisons between himself and Ray-Gun
<Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

Christie not going to get any credit for being the only one who wants hunter convicted and trump convicted?!

it’s almost as if everything trumpers say about a two tiered justice system is just bull shit

That’s what’s likely yes but it’s not certain

Yeah, he could die. Or become too ill to run. What else would change things? His poll numbers shot up after all these indictments.

Trump has the Republican party by the balls until he dies or gives up politics. He successfully made the entire party about him. There's a reason everyone except Christie and Hutchinson is supporting Trump.

I'm voting for Tulsi Gabbard. Wait Nikki Haley. Wait Tulsi Gabbard. Wait...

It was an inspiring debate in the sense that ideas were once again front and center

They talking about Trump for 5 minutes
