Whatever the odds are on that, I’ll take it. There’s no way Sean is accepting a fight against Merab.

He’s been downplaying Merab as an “easier fight” than Topuria. He never once mentioned the fact that it’s a much more consequential fight than fighting Topuria.

If he fights Merab, he’s basically relying on a punchers chance for the title he has right now.

If he fights Topuria, he’s fighting for someone else’s title, so it has no consequences for him.

Basically what I’m saying is, he will not accept to fight Merab on short notice at 299 and probably not at all ever. He’ll just pretend like Merab doesn’t exist and instead try to get the Topuria fight, which will hold up both divisions for months and it’ll buy him time and hope Merab just fights another contender.

Bout tree fiddy. But seriously, he shouldn't take that match up if Chito pulls out. Such a drastic style change up and against a super tough match up for him specifically. It would be a terrible career move to accaept that without a proper camp specialized for Merab specifically.

"Slim, and none. And Slim just left town.”.

Normally last minute replacements are against a significant step down in opponent, this would be a significant step up in opponent. It would be terribly stupid to take that fight.

But hey, let's just shit on him for hypothetically not being stupid!! Lol

Merab isn't dangerous and is chinny, he can't hurt nobody. Sean would 100% accept the easier matchup and clean him up within a round or two.

This narrative that Merab is some scary guy to avoid is hilarious.

I tend think he will. He has a real shot at KO’ing him on the feet. Merab’s hittable and has been rocked in several of his fights. Sean also has the best hands in the division and an enormous reach/size advantage. He’s faster too.

I don’t see Merab holding Sean down either. I’m not saying I’d pick O’Malley (yet), but it’s not as big of a mismatch as it initially seems.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread the title. I thought TS was asking about the likelihood of O’Malley fighting Merab after Chito if he won. If Chito pulls out, I’d put it at just under 50% he fights Merab on short notice, but wouldn’t be that surprised if he did.

says he wants to be bigger than mcgregor, these are the moves needed

What makes him Chinny? Trying to remember the last couple times he's been dropped and it's escaping me (won't lie his last couple fights I was barely watching or my brain has chose to forget them lol)

I bet you guys said the same thing while Sterling was champ, and Yan before that. How'd those go again?

Man does it ever bug you guys that Sean is champ.

Wood Chito accept, if Suga pulls out !?

Shit if that's the case I gotta rewatch that fight then lmao
Cejudo buckled him hard and nearly dropped him, causing him to run away for a while to recover

If there was a time to take on Merab, it would now. Short notice and the guy just did a big weight cut recently. I'd take it now instead of giving him a full camp. Problem is Sean hasn't been training for that type of fight..

At this point could he pull out without permanently damaging his relationship with the organization

He said he would 100% and also probably his best shot is against last minute Merab. I dunno he seems confident maybe because he trained his ass off for Aljo and he feels its similar.
