I believe he was a pro boxer and won some type of boxing championship.

As you can see, the dude is an amazing boxer.

Dude is Irish, only 24, and my new favorite young fighter. Cant tell you any more.
 
I gotta see more from him......he beat a guy who he had a big reach and height advantage over.

And who came running at him throwing punches (which connected quite a bit). The victory was impressive, but lets see him do that against someone that won't be that stupid and/or a wrestler.
 
I wish all you dumb shits would shut the fuck up about Conner "My sac hurts from all this fan nut hugging" McGregor. I'm not going to lie and say I've seen any of his fights other than his Ufc debut(which I found very impressive and entertaining), but his grappling ability is untested in the ufc thus far. Couple this with the fact that European fighters are notorious for bringing sub par ground skills into the cage and we have a sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up and let's see how he does in his next fight type of situation before we start screaming for The great Irish hopes title shot.

I don't recall anyone in this thread screaming for a title shot so the anger seething from this comment is unwarranted. If there's a thread elsewhere where people are doing this then that's probably where your righteous indignation is needed.

Yep, this may be the one McGregor thread on Sherdog where that isn't happening. It's a nice change.
 
That was a brutal counter strike and nothing hurts like that. When your fist is whiffing through air with all your weight behind it and then you get smashed from an unexpected angle it's hard not to fall down.

It's good to see this level of boxing being incorporated into mma.
 
One thing I appreciate most about his striking is that he never takes his eyes off his opponent. He's not swinging blindly, he's picking shots. Always aware.

Very good attribute to have as a striker.
