AEW is awful lol

if Bryan and Punk are really AEW bound, do you think they help fix the things we all think are wrong, and get the product up where it could be, or do they just fall in and keep repeating the same mistakes?

I'd like to think those two would want to make it better or they wouldn't go.

I think Punk is there to stroke his ego. He knows that if we went back to the E he's still a cog in their wheel and on some level is going to be told what to do. I think the only reason he's coming back is because AEW won't tell him what to do and everyone will kiss his ass. Plus money...lots of money.

Bryan is a weird one. I honestly think he wants to go out on his terms and he's not going to be involved in anything that doesn't directly involve him. I don't see him at this point in his career dying on the hill to change the stuff the Elite dorks fuck up.

I think they both are attracted by the prospect of creative control over their own storylines.

I don't think either one of them are going to fix the fact that guys like Sammy Guevara and the Young Bucks insist on blowing through a years worth of spots in a single match while selling nothing.

Punk and Bryan aren't going to change the fact that more than half the roster (and nearly all of the women) are amateurs who don't belong on TV.

They aren't going to fix the fact that SOMEONE with decision making power actually thinks it's a good idea to pair Hangman Page with the Dork Order.

And neither of them are going to fix this:

No

I don't think Punk or Bryan would go to AEW if they didn't already like the product and see big potential. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan could get paid massive money to wrestle in WWE, but if they sign with AEW it means they've chosen them for a reason.
If Punk returns anywhere it's strictly for money. Bryan probably just wants to wrestle new guys and accelerate his CTE and spinal degeneration.

He could get more money in WWE.

He could get more money in WWE.
Maybe but he'll get a fuck ton from either. Probably use WWE to get the best possible offer he can from Jacksonville Dixie. He'll sign with AEW for a slight discount because he hates Trips and the rest of management in WWE.

I imagine it's because they recognize Khan is a money mark, and if they go to AEW they can A) make more money, B) work less days and C) have total creative control over what they do and D) have the freedom to do stuff outside of AEW without having Khan try to cock block them like Vince McMahon would.

If you're a wrestler, there's no secret you'd rather be in AEW. Other than the risk of getting crippled by some untrained outlaw idiot botching a move (Punk and Bryan will never have to work with these idiots anyhow), it seems like a way better work environment.

I don't know if that's the case. Khan clearly has just as much disposable income as Vince. The word has been he's been (over)paying these guys WAY more than they've ever made anywhere else. I think Jericho has come out and said he's making more now than he ever did, which is laughable given how washed up he is.

Just got around to watching the Jericho/Gage debacle. Ugh. Just imagine admitting to your friends you're a big pro wrestling fan, having them over to show them your hobby, and THIS is what comes on. How embarrassing - some crack head fighting an obese Jon Bon Jovi, both using pizza cutters and light tubes to cut themselves up but then hitting each other with the fakest punches ever seen.

If Bryan and Punk are indeed on the way, I hope for their sake they can insulate themselves from all the Mickey Mouse backyard wrestling nonsense on the rest of the card.

Jericho used to be pretty great but obese Bon Jovi is definitely an apt description of him now.

Jericho was one of my favourites as a kid, I remember being 10 or 11 and going on the JeriChat chatroom on his website. Seeing what he's doing now is like watching Muhammad Ali getting the shit knocked out of him by Larry Holmes and Trevor Berbick. There'd be more dignity in doing gay porn than the stuff he's been doing in AEW.

It's the same way with his music. I just saw him on a documentary about 80's thrash talking about how good early Metallica, Slayer and Pantera were so obviously he knows Fozzy blows but that's not stopping him.

Falling off a cage, deathmatches, rappelling from the stadium tron... on one hand it´s remarkable he´s willing to do that stuff instead of being by the pool counting money, but it´s getting to a point where his mid life crisis is becoming a liability to the company and more importantly himself.

Oh and Punk probably choosed AEW because it´s the only place where he´ll get close to what he´d get in WWE but without all the added stress of having to deal with WWE creative morons.

Seems like a perfect fit for Punk, no doubt he'll get a boat load of money and total creative control. Plus he has to know that if he ever went back to WWE they would certainly bury him, given the motherfucking he gave Triple H and Vince over the years.

That counter into the lion tamer looked bad.

Same people shitting on Goldberg, are trying their best to pretend this Jericho jog(let's face it, he can't have a run anymore) isn't equally as bad.

I guess Goldberg has the benefit of having never been a great worker, so the drop off isn't super dramatic like Jericho. But at the very least, Goldberg still looks physically impressive, even when standing next to a Bobby Lashley. He's not going to get the reaction that NBA twitter gave Jericho <Lmaoo>

Drew McIntyre sold a damn good looking jackhammer and that was a perfectly decent match, Lashley will be fine making Goldberg look great. It's when it's the Undertaker who is a shell of himself and Bray wyatt, they can't support a vertical suplex position like that, that's why Wyatt superplexed the much bigger and stronger Braun is because that was only way they could do the spot. Goldberg is still in tremendous shape and was an unstoppable force in character. Jericho was always a midcarder in look, but now he looks awful and I get depressed more that anything. Needs to be a manager.
