Every time this stupidity comes up, I think of a dude that I went to high school with who won Texas state golden gloves as a featherweight.
He was 5'7", and looked like a emaciated nerd in street clothes.
I saw him wreck guys who were over 6 feet tall and 200+ lbs. in fights on multiple occasions.
People who think that being in good shape from weight training puts them on par with highly skilled fighters couldn't be any more deluded.
i don't get the logic behind it. nobody thinks that they can beat a skilled carpenter at carpentry just because they're big and strong and can carry more wood and hit the nails harder with their hammer. it's like society has dumbed down people into thinking fighters are just cavemen, and fighting is just a sport of chance on who lands first. when fighting is a highly skilled sport more so than many other sports which mostly rely on being born with otherworldly athleticism.
