You are accepting bad behavior as a response to bad behavior.

The rioters are causing some damage. The chief of police cannot then go on television and say that they called the person whose death was the linchpin for this.

I don't care if he was frustrated. He was wrong. I don't put him on the same level as the rioters because he is the chief of police. He is in charge of a government organization that can storm the streets with riot gear and assault.

I expect the rioters to do what they have been doing. I don't condone it.

You should expect better from the people in charge of the government.

I am not disagreeing with you at all. Be upset at this clown. But there are other people more worthy of your fury IMO.

He lumped the protesters and rioters in the same vein.

You can be upset at the rioters. I don't like what they are doing.

But they aren't the chief of police. People in power like him need to change their world view or this will continue to happen. If he sees the protesters as his enemy, then guess what? They are his enemy.

In this scene from the wire, replace drugs and the drug war with protesters or even rioters.

Dude I already agreed with u..

Go argue with a Trumpster...I’ll hold em down (knee on the neck) while u pound away...

lol

Do you agree? I definitely dont. I hear about cases like George Floyd a lot.

Peter Schiff also supports the cops, he blames "bad" black people for the bad rap other black people get.

You imbeciles are licking so much boot and trying to ignore an obvious reality that cops are supremely corrupt power tripping goons and it affects shitloads of people of all colors, and blacks the most.
lol @ "looting is socialism". This dude is a total one trick pony trying to sound smart ranting about the big bad socialist boogeyman.
The irony being a giant fucking cop union is the problem (the most socialist thing about this retarded scenario) and a lack of social resources for poor people committing petty crimes such that they'd risk arrest or getting shot over some sneakers.

360,000,000 Americans, a few hundred African Americans die a year at the hands of the police INCLUDING people who had guns, Etc. It could be better but it’s not some genocide.
The problem with this is that you're only counting fatal interactions with police as bad interactions which is a ridiculously low standard.

"Hey come on, its not like we're killing citizens every day now"

But in some communities its not just about the deaths, its also about the more everyday instances of police abuse. When a cop arbitrarily detains or arrests someone or uses excessive force when doing so that's police abuse even if no one dies. What are the numbers on those types of interactions? I don't think we have any but you can't have this conversation without addressing those. Fatal cases like Floyd's may be rare but perhaps overall police abuse of authority, which in a minority of cases leads to fatalities, is much more common.

If it hadnt been for video people would have been saying protesters are making shit up. No cop would do that. Cops are the good guys.

74% of people killed by cops are Not black.

If blacks did'nt commit so much crime they would have less altercations with Police.

Yup. Which leads to a lack of trust of police officers. Which leads to decreased police presence, no law and order and crime ridden areas. Which leads to poverty. Its a cycle. Not everything is black and white and its not just about "death".

Lol did Eric Garner not just happen a few years ago.

6 years ago. Country of 350 million people, and we have two unjustified deaths? Rare.

Does America have a higher rate of police killings than other 1st countries? Yes. Does America have a much higher crime rate? Also yes. The higher crime accounts for some of the higher rate of killings but not all of it. So there is definitely room for improvement, but its not a big enough issue to riot over. People should just make it an election issue, come up with reasonable metrics to track progress, and hold elected officials accountable. 10 years ago body cams were very rare. Now almost every major city is using them. We are making progress. We now need to get them deployed even more broadly, and to enforce their usage more strictly.

Isn't Schiff the guy that said modern countries should all return to monarchies?

People have been locked inside their homes for 2 months and are being driven by the media. It IS an issue and I salute the protesters who are fighting for rights but there more then that going on right now. There's no easy or quick solution to the problem but as usual a referredum on the president is the only solution to a problem that's been so deeply instilled in america

If they really cared about black people they would look at black on black violence, where the overwhelming majority of black deaths come from.

I do see their point that cops are in positions of power and shouldn't be abusing it though. But that's the case for anyone in power against anyone without power. And cops don't only fuck with black people.
