Black Panther had good leads(and Serkis of course) to it but it was a mid level Marvel film at best and honestly I think showed Ryan Coogler to be quite a limited director. Visually I felt it looked very mundane despite the setting, some scenes like the fights on the waterfall were really amateurishly lit making it look like a much cheaper film than it was.
I just hated it. I hate most of them mcu now. When it started, iron-man was what seemed to be a "If a super hero existed for real, this is how he might look".
It used real places, real backdrops, not all that much noticeable cgi compared to recent shit heaps.
Now marvel have done away with that. It's all space travel, parallel universe, other planets, all that sort of crap that makes for a cgi filled load of nonsense.
All the best marvel movies, are the ones set here, on earth using actual locations. I think the first avengers movie was the last of those, with the exception of a few others that unfortunately were just shit movies (civil war, iron-man 2 and 3, etc).
I want to see them go away from where they've ended up. Less cgi comic world shit, more real places, superheroes on a more human level. Not endless bouncing around, stupid mean expression posing, the superhero landing is now a joke yet they still do it, and depowering certain characters, and overpowering others when it suits the plot, I simply just hate what I used to love. Because those ass hole money men at Disney, have killed it.
