It's the same for Prime Usman vs. Prime Rockhold. Very small chance that Usman lands just the right punch on the feet to KO Rockhold. Otherwise he gets outworked on the ground by a bigger/stronger guy and I'm 99% sure GSP's submission defense was better than Usman's.

He wasn't the straight-up killer that Rockhold was in his prime. Rockhold beat Jacare and Kennedy (who beat Bisping) and destroyed Machida and Bisping (in their first fight). Their skillsets weren't similar. Bisping was good enough to beat "pretty good" fighters like Belcher and Stann by decision. That sums up his career besides the gifted belt he got from Rockhold's hubris in the rematch. Besides, this is prime vs. prime hypothetical match, and neither Bisping nor GSP were in their primes when they fought each other. GSP was also coming off a 4-year layoff.
 
The delusional GSP fangirls will somehow try to find a way to say that GSP would/could beat Rockhold, Jones, Ngannou, Carwin, Fedor, or any fighter in history.

It's comical and absurd.

You can't underestimate Rockhold's arrogance. He should have easily beat Bisping in the rematch like he did the first time but he was so cocky he didn't even try and got KO'd. He would have been the same way against GSP but even worse. Rockhold still hasn't learned anything to this day, even from being KO'd many times. He still thinks he is the best and can just walk in and beat everyone with no effort. It's a pleasure watching him get CTE.

Humility is the factor here... GSP got his does of humility in the Serra fight... and what was forged was prime GSP.

Rockhold was in his prime and got his does of humility from BIsping... and then fell off the face of the earth... the man never recovered....

Luke is far bigger than GSP and a very talented fighter, but in no world would I ever pick Luke over Georges because when he faces adversity, he folds.. and when Georges faces that same adversity, he excels...

Gsp accepted the fight because he believed he could beat Bisping. It's obvious to anyone who has followed the sport that gsp wasn't just going to fight any middleweight.

Why would Rockhold face adversity against GSP? What would Gsp honestly do in an actual fight against Rockhold? He's not taking him down and good luck trading strikes with a way larger and more powerful striker in Rockhold. It would be a nightmare for Gsp
 
Rockhold would have a huge size advantage, but even still I like GSP in this fight. Rockhold is an absolute killer on the ground when he's on top, but I don't think he'd be likely to get on top of GSP. GSP would 50-45 him.
 
Rockhold has bad boxing defense and no wrestling, GSP by UD or even a TKO via superior standup if Rockhold's chin couldn't hold up
