Tom Clancy's: The Division 2 - Official Thread

Im torn between this and Anthem.
both seem pretty ambiguous in terms of quality to me.

also Ubisoft and EA are untrustworthy
Anthem was pretty but after the novelty of jetting about, that's the sum of it, IMO.

D2 seems (comparably) to have more paint across canvases playstyle, characterisation, and SP/MP. I reckon Ubi's got a Year 1 planned out for us. I know many felt burnt on early-release D1 so I can only contemporaneously analogise at this point but I see what they're doing with passes/challenges/add-ons when I log into my last-bought Clancy title and they're listening, mate. With the ever growing success of Rainbow Six, I also like to think they're firing on all pistons right now with the series.

I know Ubi catches flak but they've also delivered what I consider some of the funnest journeys I've had the pleasure of going on so for them I've a soft spot. I cannot say that for EA, personally. I want you to do you but if that helps at all to push you in a direction, I'm happy to hear it. Early 2019 has not been kind to my backlog so I get it…

I don't know how late I can add someone, but no one took me up on the offer yet, so we can try
Awesome, I appreciate it! Hopefully if it's not too late. I didn't notice you had posted that like Wednesday.
I'll PM you my info.

Does everyone think the colours of environment seem faded or lifeless? I'm not sure if that's a purposed greying or in effect dulling but I finished the two main missions and after thought on the two as one nondescript blur. I imagine one could still do a devastated, postwar state but keep a select vibrance in as much...

While the cartoonish reticules don't help, I started enjoying the firefights more when I'd picked up an Mk 17. Meatier audio would still be nice to see and when in tight spaces, I get caught too easily by cover designations and end up doornail-dead. I like the perk system and could see myself getting into it once it's released and for real. The 8-man team raids sound like wrecking crews are going to come a-knocking… March will be mayhem.

Given what Ubi has done with Rainbow Six Siege for the last like almost 5 years... I'd trust them more at this stage even if they are a bit goofy sometimes.

Exactly.

Can someone explain to me how I access or activate the Invaded mission? Was hoping to unlock the skin+ at launch by doing so but haven't the faintest where to go or what to do. I've been endgame for an entire day now and want to uninstall the beta and move on already.

e/ At login prompt, hit R2 (or swipe character carousel right) when at endgame and select one of three specialists, who will be modelled after your beta primary but in varying levelled-up kits. Then roll out.

The beta completely underwhelmed me. The gunplay still feels like ass, the bullet sponge enemies are back, the AI is still garbage and it feels like an expansion pack to the Division. It doesn't feel like a new game.

I agree with Angry Joe exactly. I am more looking forward to Anthem then Div. 2.

I guess there weren't enough walnut Pom Pom beanies in the game for him.

I agree with this whole heartily

Wow, just wow. Absolutely spot on impression. I agree wholeheartedly with Macks take on Div. 2.

LMAO!!

@Abortedone watch this trash heap loool.

That was the same glitch from the first game. They have had like 3 years to patch this hahahha. Screw this lazy copy paste game.

I do like the added settlement stuff and just being in a new area, but you're right on a lot of what you said. It felt better to play to me, but there were a lot of similarities to the first game and not the good ones.

I'm sharpshooter on my team. Without embellishment, I would head-shot dudes, especially Tusks, three times at mid-range before they'd be put down after rushing those targets. I did not enjoy the firefights as a result and I know you know how much I love Ghost Recon and wanted a similar experience here.

I don't generally play shooters, the RPG elements and setting are what drew me in the first time, but in a game with pvp how do you balance the bullet sponge thing? Maybe y'all are just better at not getting hit, but if I can take a bunch of shots (and can play against other players who can too) how do you make it so the NPCs can't? Are pve and pvp just two totally different styles of games?

Admitted brainstorm but a workaround for the sponge factor in PVE without altering PVP experience could be as simple as dropping Mode to Recruit, Cadet, or whatever they call it (Easy) – which was not available in the private beta but will be at launch. If dev crassly reckon 3-5 headshots equal a kill, then Recruit should reduce as much and put bullet feedback more in line with what mechanics like killshot mean. As we know, sometimes dropping Mode can also stupefy AI senses in addition to shaving HP so we need start play to get a better read on that.

I really hope they colour-enhance the world or how say; it seemed across-the-board to lack any vibrance. I like a little pop in my snap and crackle.

And +1 on the RPG elements for the title. I dig specialisation and speccing into my playstyle too.

I guess, but it makes sense to me that enemies should be about on par with you sponge-wise, and I prefer to not get killshotted myself either, so if everyone is a little spongy that's fine with me

I feel like the red mobs are a good amount of health for ttk. But the yellow armored enemies need to be nerfed cause they are still such a chore to kill. It's just boring. I mean mags after mags dumped into them is not fun. Especially in a cover shooter. Maybe in games like Destiny or Mass Effect where you got powers and good evade or dodge abilities and rely on strafing and soft cover that makes the combat more engaging.

But it's just so boring in Div cause you are glued to barriers or walls most of the time and don't have knees so its very dull back and forth of whack a mole.

Well said.

I'm pretty interested in the tweaks that are underway as I feel there were found to be glaringly good points of correction that could non-situationally elevate the whole experience. As we've paid, we're in this though for better or worse. Suit up, lol.

Playing the open beta, it's fun but some super random glitches all over. As for the gameplay it's good but that random jump over things on it's own has gotten me killed a bunch due to it being a super slow movement.

Thanks for the thread, the link got me downloading it right now.

Aside from farming I can't think of any big differences in PVE VS PVP.
