Haven't been on Sherdog for a while. Decided to check this thread out.
Some interesting takes, but I think the last 3 fights on this card are horrible for betting.
There are so many unknowns in each fight.
DC/Stipe: Before the eye poke, it was pretty even. Stipe started better, took DC down briefly, controlled him against the cage, hit him with some good shots. DC came back and landed several hard shots that left visible damage. Stipe looked bigger and stronger, DC looked quicker and more crisp. However, DC is coming off pretty serious back surgery where he couldn't train for 5 months and gained a load of weight. He is also a year older at 40. We all know fighters can get old over night, which leads me to..
Romero/Costa: Romero is 42, and no one beats father time. Could this be the fight? There isn't much to say other than they are both utter (enhanced) specimens. The Romero that fought Whittaker would beat the fook out of Costa, but we just don't know. Costa is so fast and powerful, if Romero has lost a step, it could be a rough one. But Costa is relatively young, a physical beast, and we haven't seen him for over a year. It's possible that he has made serious strides.
Nate/Pettis: Again, so much time off for Nate. He's 34. Does he have the same chin and stamina? Pettis has been on a decline for a while and was losing badly to Wonderboy before the KO. He looks in *much* better shape for this fight. It's skill vs heart. Pettis can take a shot and appears game, but he does fold under pressure. We just don't know what Nate is gonna show up.
It's an unbelievable card at the end of the day. Some fights deserve to just be enjoyed, imo. And the last 3 of the night fall into that category.
Good luck to everyone though.
