UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Lewis

I love that both Scumbag Steve, who has officially left the forums 2-3 times over, compete with long sob posts, and Little Jordie, who has been inactive for months, came out of the woodwork JUST to respond to me.

I'm literally living rent-free in their heads.

Not only did I bet 25u in my first MMA bet in many years, but I won at underdog odds, too! A brilliant and bold play, if I do say so myself.

Unlike you, I'll be honest; when YOU bet 25u on very low-level WMMA, hitting Jin Yeon Kim at something like -150 against Nadia Kassem, it was a fairly decent play. Way riskier and with less value than mine, but not bad by any means.

I'm not a tennis betting savant just yet, but I've made a nice profit thus far, thanks for asking. It's been a lot of fun to learn and it's very different than how one needs to approach MMA.

Hell, if it wasn't for how much I would hate to smarten up and help leechs like yourself, I would happily make a topic explaining my whole live-bet approach, what to look for, potential pre-bet opportunities, etc.

Brought to you by the same fish who pissed away 2 units on Evans-Smith in her last fight against Andrea Lee.

Losers never learn.
I had Kim at +100, against Nadia Kassem. And anyways, that bet then is ~3u bet now. I know you keep yours close to the chest but I'll offer you a free tip: the point of this thing is to win money. Not to win Best Grump at the Cantankerous Asshat Awards. That said, you should stop gambling. You lose too much.

I think Smith wins this rather comfortably.

This is a HUGE step down in competition for him.

Despite him losing his last 3, he's lost to Jones/Glover/Rakic(sp). 3 absolute killers.

I'll play him at -135 all day. He's at a slight wrestling disadvantage, but has a huge striking advantage and a BJJ advantage.

smith has shown he can be taken down and held there for extended periods of time. I think if want to play him his ko line and rd 1 are the ways to go.

I don’t think Clark likes being hit much. Smith could come out and aggressive and get him out of there

I’m Just not wild about paying juice for a guy who has talked about retirement and not looked good at all lately

You're very tiresome, especially for someone desperately leeching onto others' picks...mine included. In fact, the whole reason you got your panties in such a twist about me was that I stopped posting them publically ahead of time since I was tired of you profiting off them while behaving like an asshole.

What is your excuse this time for coming back after your 2nd or 3rd "I'm leaving the forum forever" cry for attention?

Boredom.

I think I know the answer but would you mind sharing your plays for this Saturday?

I consider myself somewhat of a Black Beast specialist. Since his fight with Roy (where I unwisely had a lot of money against him) I made a concerted effort to rewatch all of his previous fights, in order to see what have I missed, to get a better grasp of his style. I followed his career since closely and I pretty much could tell the shape of all of his fights. Sadly, not the outcome. :(

Still, this doesn't help me to easily pick a winner here... This is gonna be one of those sloppy afairs of Lewis, where he just survives in the best game of his opponent for the 90% of the time, and plugging in some of his offence for 30 secods to a minute every round, resulting in him maybe winning them. If Lewis doesn't get stopped, I can easily see him picking up another close decision win. And you'll tell me - but he's not fighitng a blown up LHW or some other crappy HW, it's Curtis Blaydes! I don't care that it's Curtis fucking Blaydes, if Lewis still breathes, he finds a way to win rounds! His end of round blitzes are proven to steal rounds time after time! And aside when he's getting tooled on the feet, when he is getting wrestled he doesn't really absorb damage or being really dominated and it doesn't look like he's losing that badly in the judges' eyes!

Another layer to this is Lewis new found love for offensive grappling. All these years he wasn't really a stand and bang guy, in his heart he is a murderous puncher from top, and this is where most of his finishes comes from actually. I feel as a wrestler Blaydes isn't comfortable fighting off his back, and IF for some reason (wild scramble, or Lewis actually shooting TD!) he finds himself there it can get really nasty for him...

My prediction: Lewis with an ugly win
My tip: Please don't bet on this fight

I agree with a lot of this. I posted earlier about what would happen in a world where the fight looks a lot like Ngannou/Lewis where no one engages. Blaydes has shown a tendency to get tired as he continues to try and grapple opponents - like the fight against Volkov where one of the rounds when he slowed down, he got tuned up on the feet. Lewis athletically (in terms of explosive power) might be Blaydes' best opponent outside of Ngannou. Blaydes doesn't have the functional jujitsu game of Cormier and I highly doubt Lewis is going to let Blaydes get top control and GNP him. If Blaydes has to implement so much of his energy to keep Lewis down, what happens when they get back to the feet and he randomly gets clipped? It's too dangerous to call Blaydes a lock here imo

so pearce is moving down to featherweight? he is 6'0 seems like a rough cut!

Lewis fought the oldest fighter on the UFC roster most recently and did not look good. He lost the first round before being handed an early stoppage against an opponent that was still defending himself and had not been knocked unconscious.

Before that he fought the shortest heavyweight on the UFC roster and was given a very sketchy decision win in his hometown despite being controlled by Latifi for nearly 2 rounds.

Now hes fighting an athletic grappler thats bigger than him. I don't see how he wins this fight other than a flukey first round KO.

@ 11:09 of that interview Lewis says this...just in case Curtis get Covid and we have to cancel the fight...

Lewis has free time for that commentating gig they offered him for the Roy Jones vs. Tyson fight.

Covid strikes again. Well can we focus on the finer parts of this card? Namely rachel ostovich and norma Dupont's assets?

Still fuck all analysis. Same old from the clueless crazy guy.

You mean my analysis here is "fuck all", compared to your analysis of "AES once beat Marion Reneau", which anyone who actually watched the fight knows was one of the worst robberies of 2016, AND is completely irrelevant to boot, since Reneau had the worst takedown defense in the entire UFC at the time?

It's downright criminal that you charge money on BetMMA for your garbage picks.
