Well if you want additional biased inside info, Morales grew up with some of my friends and came to a party at my place a few months ago. I talked to him for a while that night, he feels extremely confident and wants to work his way back to avenge his loss to Almeida. He says he only wants top level fights. It also felt like he nearly broke my wrist when he shook my hand before he left, and he's a BW and I'm about 200 lbs.
Looking at the fights alone though, I think he has a great skillset that he's finally starting to put all together. He started out with some extremely tough matchups, and managed to pick up a win last time. I think he's mentally in a great place for this right now and is making the right adjustments from starting as mostly a bomb-throwing boxer.
Biased info is of course bias lol.
I was a 17 or 18 year old and trained with Scott jorgensen in the lead up to the dominick cruz fight( and brad pickett, buenellos 2, and his whole 7-1 run(Or something like that) in the UFC/ WEC before he fell off).
He got better every day with his striking and wrestling. He was giving Joe Warren fits in the wrestling department and outstriking good strikers. I was a Cruz fan and for a second I was convinced he was gonna clip Cruz when Cruz darted sideways. They were working on it everyday, it seemed.
When the fight happened at the last ever WEC in AZ, he was hit 500 times across the head. Well not 500 but 250 or so and broke the record at the time.
