UFC on ESPN 7 Overeem vs Rozenstruik

What's that mean ?
Most people lose when betting. Vegas wasn't built on people taking their money after all

If the public overwhelmingly likes something, I'll take my chances on them being wrong for a small bet. Being contrarian for the sake of it isn't the smartest but it's a better use of time than studying the tape of these 2 fighters...

I appreciate the reminder. Thanks. I've just watched both fights again - and am going to the Sportsbook later to put another straight on Yana. Yana was also stronger than Lansberg in the clinch. Lansberg could not turn her around in the clinch like she could Ladd. Lansberg got totally dominated vs. winning against Ladd until robbed.

Another forum mentioned age - Ladd is 24 Yana 29 - not a big enough age gap. Yana has twice the fights (more experience) than Ladd.

Just watched Aspen Ladd vs. Lina Lansberg AGAIN. Lost on the feet and in the clinch. In top position - More than half her punches missed while she's screaming like a dog. The ref stops it early. Total garbage victory.

Meanwhile - Yana vs. Lansberg shows a decisive victory for Yana. Won on the ground and feet - Yana had 145 strikes to Lansbergs 35.

I cannot possibly understand how 88% of MMA Junnkie voters think Ladd is gonna win.
Ladd might be mediocre but have you seen Yana's TDD?

I researched the fight after seeing that bloke chuck $2,000 on Yana. Yes Yana looks impressive in the clinch, but Ladd looks way more impressive on the ground. Other than getting held up against the cage for a bit, anyone that engages on the ground gets reversed and overwhelmed.

My biggest concern here is Yanas shite kicks. She throws them every fight, with 0 set up . They are extremely easy to see and catch. She got taken down 3 times against Evinger by throwing crappy kicks. Then proceeds to search for subs off her back. Horrible game plan against Ladd. Ladd had butterflies against Eubanks and got up when the time was right, also reversed her and got her back in the second. Yana even throws her kicks while going backwards which makes them even weaker lol. Ladd will pressure her, I dont trust Yana to not throw the naked kicks when she has done it in every fight. She will lose rounds due to stupid takedowns. Worst case might win the fight by having 3+min of cage control in each round, but I just dont see it.

88% of the voters on MMA Junkie (out of 300 something votes) think Aspen Ladd will win.

Does anyone here besides this one guy above believe that Aspen Ladd will beat Yana Kunitskaya?

Anyone? I am considering putting even more money on Yana but now hesitating because of this poll on MMA Junkie (Sold out to MSM and now heavily censors all comments). I have studied everything about these fighters and cannot understand how almost 90% of fans on that website believe Aspen Ladd is going to win here.

Other than Ladd's high center of gravity top game what other aspects of Aspen Ladd's skills are on the same level as Yana Kunitskaya? I have watched all their fights and cannot see anything to justify an 88% poll.

I put half a unit on yana only cause she's and underdog, this is a 50/50 fight with a lean on Yana for me, the thing is Yana throws a ton of naked kicks and Reneau caught a couple of them and even took her down once, Aspen can absolutely do this, and she only needs one takedown to win a round.
Also this are women, you cant expect them to stick to a gameplan, i like to bet heavy on WMMA but only on sure things like Tracy last event.
I think the poll is so skewed because Ladd still has a lot of hype as a top prospect while Yana got her face smashed in her last fight.

Yea this is a good take on the fight, i shoulda rewatched that Evinger fight now i really regret my bet, im just stupidly trusting her to come in with a gameplan against a wrestler and execute it which i know damm well it aint gonna happen, hopefully Yana's judo gives her a couple takedowns.

Anyone else need a laugh? Finishing up my fruit cake parlay.
100 for 13,000~
Muradov
Solecki
Yadong
Kilburn (really iffy here feeling fade on Billy the kid)
And for 245
Usman
Holloway
Nunes
Moraes
Perry
France ( another I'm not done with)
I know most of this is 245 but I got bored during the ufc break and need some fun.
Haven't played any parlays yet but I like about 80% of this.

I see what you are saying about her kicks. However - she seems to use kicks in defense and yes that could go against her here. But I have seen her land a few stabbing kicks when opponents rushed in like you are saying. It's important to keep in mind Yana won the 1st fight against Evinger off her back as a 4-1 underdog. The 2nd fight with Evinger - 90% took place on the ground. For some reason it seemed like that's where Yana wanted it. I don't know why ... if that was her gameplan with Evinger.

But if you compare Aspen and Yana fighting Lina Lansberg it isn't even close. Yana totally dominated LAnsberg in every aspect - while Ladd was losing until she was gifted a win the moment she got top position screaming like a dog throwing punches. If you watch in slow motion half her punches miss. No control. Ladd was gifted the win.

Aspen Ladd is a one dimensional fighter compared to Yana. She has a high center of gravity and is only good ------> while on the ground in top position. MO is same in all her fights. Rush forward with sloppy boxing get the clinch take down and get top position. Even if she gets it on Yana - Yana is very good off her back. Ladd has absolutely nothing for Yana on the feet.

Yana is +145 at the Westgate in Vegas right now. The only way I see Ladd winning:

1) Lucky punch
2) Top position screaming like a dog

I've seen no BJJ skills from Ladd at all unless you count her 1 easy arm bar against Bobby Cooper after beating Cooper from top position.

Yana will beat her. It's a bet on a well rounded technical fighter vs. a young one trick pony who wins fights on top position screaming like a dog and is average in every other area of MMA. Yana will win.

P.S. What is half a unit ?

Yeah thats why i bet here she just seems like a better fighter but might be susceptible to the one trick of ladd by getting her kicks caught.
half a unit is 50, im on a bad streak so i cant really speak but i just think women are too low fight iq to trust them with big bets, i've been burned too many times by them making dumbass decisions in fights they shoulda won, but the lines are so good sometimes like Ji Yeon Kim last month or Cortez last event you get tempted to bet big.

Burned. Yea. hear that. I remember when Cat Zingano's switched from winning in stand up to pulling guard on the ground the whole fight just to prove she was better on the ground when she wasn't. Lost big $$$$$ on that.

I've had my worst losses from things I don't know about before the fight. I bet the house and got absolutely massacred on Ruthless Robbie Lawler - because he showed up to fight RDA with a preexisting knee injury. Of course there is no news before it happens and I don't know anyone I can pay to tell me about these things.

Loool

Did you see her fight with Sijara Eubanks, a black belt with a ground game way better then Yana.

She had her in subs, passed her guard, mounted her and had some really smooth transitions to the back.

She might loose this one but it wont be beacuse she is a fish on the ground

is her tdd that bad? what fight to see this?
UFC website says 0%. That's gotta be a typo.
She has never stuffed a TD in the UFC, didn't in either of her fights with Tonya Evinger in Invicta as well. Her kicks are easy to catch and she has no balance so falls on her back every time, then when she's on her back she is content to play guard and constantly go submission over position.

She was rolling for a knee bar vs reneau . I found it entertaining

even more entertaining was her getting her nose shattered and all three judges scoring the fight for her

Props are out btw

Why do you keep saying she was "gifted" the win and that she "screams like a dog" lol? Do you dislike the woman?
Would strongly recommend not letting personal feelings effect betting.

She wasen't giffted the takedown or the dominant positions on the ground she had in that round. Yea the fight was stoped early but the domination wasent going to end. All her fights end the same once its on the ground, only Eubanks survived, but she has much more skill and grit on the ground compared to Yana. Fought out of a tight rear naked choke as well. In the second Evinger fight Yana was attacking off her back, and when she couldnt do anything she kinda just tapped as soon as Tonya got her arm around the neck. Ladd is way more ruthless on top. Are you comfortable with Yana being on her back against Ladd?
