With the coronavirus in mind, will you continue to roll?

People getting worried over some fake news and panicking, bunch of sheeps. We all probably all have coronavirus by now, and it's just nothing but a common flu with a fancy name. Get over it. Everyone will be fine. The weak immuned with already bad health will die out, and the strong with already good health will survive and be immuned to this coronavirus that's nothing but a common flu. It is what it is. Relax, everyone. It's all a bunch of fake news.

alright I know i said i wasn’t posting anymore but I can’t help but comment on this.

I’m speaking out against the mass hysteria this shit is causing but it’s also by no means “fake news”. The truth is somewhere in the middle. It will probably turn out to be pretty rough on the elderly and quite a few more people will probably get sick from it. The impact on the economy is going the be the big victim here.

but again I want to reiterate that in terms of things to be worried about corvid-19 is pretty low so your on the right track.

i think the worst people are those that don’t even work in the health field and decides it’s time for everybody to panic.

I honestly hope I do get corvid-19. Me being a first responder, there’s a pretty damn good chance I will too. You know what’s going to happen then? I’m going to avoid people, I’ll get a fever and will feel sick for a couple days and then I’ll get on with my life.

You do you have a point in the fact that it does appear to be more infectious than the flu but as far as more lethal it’s not the point where everyone should be worried. As of our last briefing with our infectious disease physician team it appears to have an overall mortality of 0.3%. The flu is indeed lower, but 0.3% is nothing at all to be worried about. It does jump to 15% in the elderly and weak immune system pts though. However 15% is still far from a death sentence and even though a full treatment is not available the symptoms can be managed and controlled. Oddly enough young children seem to be pretty resistant to it. Usually the opposite is true.

Have you ever watched or read those who had it? It’s rather painful. One description is that you’re suffocating because your lungs are affected. It’s not the flu. Italy has 1000 dead. I don’t want the flu but based on those who have covid19, I don’t want to get infected and if you get it, did your employer say they will pay you if you’re going to be self quarantined? What about your family if you have one?

It’s not the lethality but how painful it will be and you may be put into an ICU unit. Hope your insurance is really good. Even with insurance, ICU is extremely costly even for one day. You will be quarantined and how many days do you think you can be out of work?

Again as I mentioned in the original post while 15% is serious is very far from a death sentence especially with early detection. Still best to not go around the older population or those with compromised immune system.

You should know by now, someone can be infected but be asymptotic. That’s why countries like Taiwan is in good shape. Their testing is far more extensive than even Japan. They learned the hard way from SARS.

i'm going to bookmark this so you can tell us how it's fake news in two weeks.

Isn't he an older dude? He'll be one of the first to go, can't gloat on a ghost.

Weird how all the people in denial over this are the ones most likely to catch a fatal case of coron- OH I GET IT.

Sars is a different animal. That was one of the pandemics I was actually legit worried about. The rest, not so much. Very glad nothing came of that in the US.

Taiwan was first hit but had little spread, because people used precaution and had consideration for others. Here we have the fake news crew so we have to do things the hard way.

Taking time off - not worth the risk.

The whole meme that is making rounds about washing your hands and staying home is dumb. it can be anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks before you get sick; meanwhile your spreading that virus around.

I know people that got it and recovered, now they're immuned to it. It's not really a big deal. Just think of this as a purge. The weak will die out and the strong will survive. I have a good immune system and I take my vitamins daily, also eat healthy and doesn't smoke. Have no previous health issues. I probably already have it too. And if i were to get sick, and I recover, then I'm immuned. Not worry about this liberal media scare tactic at all.

so it's fake news but it's also real?

of course you know people that got it and recovered, 94% of all confirmed cases with an actual outcome recovered. no one is saying the death rate is 100%. the issue isn't death of literally everyone in the world, the issue is the fact that this shit spreads like wildfire, and roughly 10% of all infected need medical care. that means there's a massive spike in the number of people who need medical professionals, which completely overwhelms the healthcare system... which means even people who don't have corona virus, but do need medical attention, die.

it's hilarious you would claim it's no big deal, while at the same time suggest it's a purge during which the weak will die.

you're like a fucking right wing caricature. fake news, liberal scare tactic, the weak must die, as long as i'm fine it doesn't matter. jesus christ.

Until the numbers increase to something significant in my area i will roll/scrap every week.

we will have a good laboratory in north america

In Quebec we closed the schools early, banned more than 250 people assemblies. we have as of this morning 19 cases. We try to flatten the curve. The only biased thing is that we don't control the borders enough.

So in two weeks we will see the state of what's going on in the US and rest of Canada.

If we are lucky we will only have new cases from travelers and very few local contamination.

What sucks is that we always have symptoms of flu in Quebec in March. Temperture is going from minus 10 celsius to 7 positive in the same day. So it starting to be a paranoia party. I don't remember not having the sniffles at this time of the year

Possibility for a 20-30% reduction in lung function even if you recover from it. Also - "in the field" was pretty fucking cringe.

And you're a weak liberal that gets scared too easily like a liberal sheep that listens to fake news.

do explain what makes the current pandemic fake news. i'd love to hear it from a strong conservative like yourself.

yes cause i dont buy into every hype remember ebola? west nile virus?
I dont know how accurate it is, but I've seen figures stating Ebola, west Nile, and swine flu, all spread 4-18 times as much as coronavirus. I dont know why people are panicking so much more now than they were then.

The only thing I can think of is this time it's getting more coverage for political reasons. I feel like CNN is giving it tremendously more exposure.
