DC Believes Fedor Was 'Average At Best' In 2009

I like DC but,

Come on, prime Fedor would have beaten DC, AND probably would have looked better against Jones.

Ironic since Cormier was nicknamed “Black Fedor” early in his career
Not really ironic……

Again, dc wasn’t talking about 2004 fedor.

Someone today could be the new black fedor. That wouldn’t mean they are comparing them to 2021 fedor.

Average seems a bit overstated. But he is probably right that he loses to JDS, Cain... Kongo is a tough match up too at that point. Not sure who else. I think he starches Carwin and Mir.

I can see many matchups that would have given Fedor problems. I wouldn't say average though. I'd like to think he'd rise to the challenge and make a title run.

Because Fedor wasn’t in his prime that automatically makes him “average?” Sherbro logic right there

Fedor, for whatever reason, seemed to lose his edge after the CroCop fight.

I think that was the moment when he felt like he had reached the top of the sport, and it was only going to go downhill after that.

He was still beating guys, but he was getting increasingly sloppy, relying on brawling to get quick wins. You never truly saw the tactical, well-rounded Fedor after that fight.

Sylvia.

If DC of Stipe 1-3 was fighting in Pride in 2004, he would have gotten his shit pushed in by more than just Stipe.

He would have done a lot of pushing as well….

Dude if Brock subbed Carwin, Fedor by armbar
Did u even watch the Carwin/Brock fight? He got subbed bc he completely emptied his gas tank trying to finish Bock in the first(which should've been stopped) He landed something like 50 shots on Brock. When he came out in the second round he was taken down by such a weak and predictable takedown. Not saying Carwin wouldn't have been subbed eventually, but that's a horrible example

Fedor all day every day in his prime , it don't matter who would have been in front of him , DC included , Fedor was not an easy fight for any man alive in his prime , just like Iron Mike Tyson , Fedor was THE baddest man on the planet in his day , no question . DC deserves a lot of respect also though , he became a true beast himself in his prime .

not sure what point you're making on brock. dc said cain and jds would be bad matchups for fedor. that's true. unquestionably.

and c'mon. again, mir had lost 6 of 8 BEFORE fighting fedor. surely you can see he wasn't the same fighter he was in 2009.......i mean fedor is older than rampage too. that doesn't mean there's anything to take away from their fight.
Fedor's prime was well before Cain and JDS. He was probably past his prime when he beat Sylvia and Arlovski already, and was basically a freelancer after Pride ended. They all had their prime in their late 20s, and Fedor is 6 years older than Cain and 8 years older than JDS.

i'm not sure how this is responding to what i said. the topic is 2009-2011......

I really like Dc but , he’s making it obvious who signs his pay check lately
