Glover Teixeira: Ngannou Shut Up 'Boxing Guys Who Don’t Know S—t About Fighting'

Boxing fans in shambles

I need to see Wilder KO AJ first. Don't do this to me.
:sniper:

I mean in a "real" fight I'd pick the MMA guy regularly. Course depends on tons a factors.

Glover is right though. Far too many folks run with shitty narratives just to crap over fighters. Fans guilty first and foremost.

For my base thoughts....you know...

<{JustBleed}>

All the boxing guys were going off the assumption that this fight would go the same way most boxing matches go with MMA guys.
What those boxing guys didn't account for is Ngannous heart and determination.

I don't know where this all brings Francis but I hope only good things come his way after all he's been through to get this far.

Glover vs Fury is The Fight to make

Peoples Champ!!!!

My question is where was all this talk when former MMA champions were getting knocked out and losing to a YouTuber

That only makes boxing look worse though....YouTubers picking it up and competing with life long boxers like Tommy Fury.

MMA has wins over boxing: Artem beat Paulie, Pettis beat Roy Jones, Anderson beat Chavez, Vitor smashed Holyfield, and of course Ngannou for all intents and purposes beat Fury. MMA fighters have had much less success against YouTubers....

Mma is just barely more "realistic" than boxing. How often it is 1vs1 and no weapons? Name one important battle where mma was important skillset, I wait.

Francis 100% shut up a lot of people, myself included. I thought Fury was gonna wash him and expose his delusions of thinking he can compete with the BEST HW boxer right now.
I'm in the same boat, broheem. I was talking mad shit about Tyson schooling Frank, was thinking this would be a masterclass in boxing ... damn I was fooled.

Glover sounds bitter that he dedicated his life to MMA…only to be able to afford a rancher and have to be given a vehicle by Alex Pereira.

Glover actually seems pretty appreciative of the fact someone like Ngannou who went the opposite route to Glover is successful. Opposite of being bitter.

Francis Ngannou’s impressive performance against Tyson Fury this past Saturday has drawn well-deserved praise from the MMA community.

Even former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira, who typically maintains a low profile, published a video in Portuguese on his Instagram account while watching the fight with teammate Alex Pereira. Ngannou dropped Fury in the third round but would go on to lose a contentious split decision against “The Gypsy King.”

“Francis Ngannou… damn, my brother! It surprised me, surprised the world and shut up these boxing guys, who don't know s—t about fighting,” Texeira said. “Because they make a lot of money, they think they're the real deal and an MMA fighter won't have a chance.

He did Better than everyone thought Sport Combat are really unpredictable.

Yeah, but that's with fat, slow heavyweights.

Try putting Volkanovski (or Holloway) in there with Terrence Crawford, or Errol Spence, and see how MMA crumbles to boxing.

Glover better zip it before he ends up on KSIs radar. Ngannou repped for everyone. Love it.

Well why didnt other mma fighters do well?

Anderson beat Chavez Jr
Artem Lobov beat Pauli Malinaggi
Mike Perry beat Michael Seals
Ryan Ford beat an Olympic Gold Medalist

Sometimes the MMA fighters do well. Most don't cross over young enough or spend enough time learning boxing, they go from little to no proper experience to fighting world class guys.

Yeah but then the reverse could be said for Youtuber Jake Paul sparking out multiple MMA champions.

You think so? I don't. And the main reason for that is that Jake Paul beat guys who were retired and husks of their former selves. I mean, Woodley looked better against Paul than he'd looked against an MMA fighter in years.

Very few will ever do what N'Gannou did. He's an anomaly. A freak of nature. We will see what happens in his next fight against a boxer. I'll reserve my judgement until then. One good performance doesn't mean shit in the grand scheme of things. Many elite guys have off nights against apparent "inferior" opposition

I like boxing a fair bit, but yeah, it is pretty satisfying after years of the Jake Paul shit. Its also satisfying because there is a not insignificant element of the boxing community who are very stuck in their ways and obnoxiously snobbish and disrespectful regarding MMA and pretty much all other combat sports.

"World class guys" LOL. All these fights have caveats. They were more freakshow fights than anything. Even ones you didn't mention, James Toney and Ray Mercer, were years retired and shells of their former selves. Until we see a prime for prime fight such as Volk vs Crawford, we'll never really know.

Fury vs Ngannou was a 10 round exhibition fight which Fury didn't take seriously as he has an actual championship fight scheduled in two months lol. He's a fat lazy slob who deserved to get embarrassed.
