Elections Canadian Federal Election 2019 Thread

One more time at a dumb fuck speed. Just because someone doesn't agree with or vote for you doesn't mean that they are the "other" and aren't deserving respect. You are voted in to govern and serve all of Canada since everyone's tax dollars pay your salary, and not just the one's that agree with you.

not sure what you’re crying about. Trudeau bought the pipeline from transmountain so you guys can sell more oil.

he also governs the rest of Canada and not just Alberta. not sure what more you expect out of him.

He's from Alberta originally. Something tells me this is more about sticking it to daddy than anything resembling politics for him.

I didn't say he didn't. The comment was the directed at the poster.

Yes, watching liberals ruin our country is pretty sad. You like it because you have some weird daddy issues with Alberta.

Ruining the country? You, a fake Canadian who can't make up his mind whether he's british, or american, is talking about breaking up the country in this very thread.

You need to take a few deep breaths. It's gonna be alright. A few days ago, JT had a majority. Now he has a minority. A few days ago, the cons had fewer seats than they do now. ''Hell no, we won't go!'' says Cunningham.

This is crying about the way things ought to be. I am here calmly informing you of the way things are - how did Alberta, a province afloat on an ocean of oil become a backwater bumblefuck boom-bust banana republic? It's because they insisted on being a pariah.

They are welcome to insist on it in perpetuity.

I didn't become one and it isn't one. Still the second wealthiest province per capita. Never insisted on being a pariah but certainly feel like one with people like you in Canada.

Dude is bigly educated, traveled the world and lived in many places. Not sure what your angle is on trying to discredit him

I said at the very start of Trudeau and Notley's terms that they would have lots of rhetoric about pipeline support and take some empty actions but the one thing they would never do is want to go down in history as the party in power who actually got them implemented.

Yes Trudeau must show some support, including buy and parking pipelines as great cost but everyone, and i mean EVERYONE, knows there will never be pipelines unless a gov't absolutely drives it thru. You can say or even shout all you want 'I support pipelines" but you know that if you allow the current process to go forward with the Province of BC and all sorts of groups, Indigenous and other to sue endlessly, they will never happen.

I say that as a practical comment, not a damming one. The pipelines just CANNOT proceed in the current climate and Trudeau and Notley knew that so it was very safe for them to say they support and thus minimize the outrage that would come from AB and even Sask if they instead came out and said no.

You will NEVER see pipelines under Trudeau's tenure.

I wasn't born here, but I clearly I care a lot more about Canada than you do.

Does Canada's political zeitgeist usually move in unison with, or opposition to, the US?
The recent governments look relatively opposed, athough obviously more centrist.

Well, they got more than the Liberals, but at 34% vs 33% that's hardly a ringing endorsement for anybody.
That's true. It wasn't an exciting election, and candidates that didn't really inspire anyone tbh.

I'd like to say we kinda do our own thing, but the latest right movement has definitely moved into Canada somewhat. It is limited, though, because we don't have an equivalent of fox news. We had Sun News, which tried its best, but it went under. Canada can't really follow the U.S. on it's latest political foray.

Yeah, I don't mean Canadian politics are determined by US politics.
Over here though, when a broad issue starts getting a lot of attention in the US, it gets attention here (often undeservedly, like the gun debate, historical statues etc). Curse of the Anglosphere. However the majority sentiment is typically reversed.
I figured the effect would be stronger in Canada, but wasn't sure on the direction.

Scheer learned the same lesson Hillary learned in 2016.

'The other guy is a dick' doesn't win elections. You have to able to explain why you would be good, not just why the other guy sucks.

One more time at retard speed, just for you: if you will never vote for me no matter what, I don't give a fuck about you. If you will always vote for me no matter what, I also don't give a fuck about you.

Get it? Or do we need to involve a puppet show or something like that?

I kinda think maybe you might be a douche?
Then support your own welfare province dipshit...
