UFC 257: McGregor vs. Poirier 2

I was the one who offered him up as an option when they did the poll. This was before there was even an MMA betting subforum, @Oblivian just used to make threads in the heavies (what they called the UFC section back in the day when you had Pride/Strikeforce still considered major players). I put Barry up because I was like "Listen, we've all made good $ fading Barry's picks for awhile, it's time to give him some credit..." Something like that.

Man, I love the nostalgia up in this bitch now that Barry made an appearance.

I know these guys voluntarily left, but does anyone still talk to EZFlyer or WannaBet?

The man has a dedication to his craft like none I've ever seen.

Fuck I've been around for a while if I remember Barry and his shenanigans.

Good stuff.

He has evolved little by little but even his early cooler act was incredible. I think he managed to pick every single loser including some of the biggest upsets in mma history. And even expanded to politics by picking (and maybe even causing the loss- if you know what I mean ) of Hillary Clinton at 2016 elections.

Back when he was in Cooler mode, he made that post where he went on and on about how awful his life was. His GF had dumped him, he was broke, he didn't have a job and didn't know what he was going to do. He was talking about taking out (another) $1k cash advance on a credit card to try to win some of his losses back. It was just unreal.

And at that point the "Is he a troll or not" question really hadn't been answered because we hadn't seen the "Barry the Sharp" schtick yet. And I remember sitting and reading his post laughing and thinking "Man...if this isn't a troll job, I am going straight to hell for laughing at this guy."

Poirier seems off this week. First, he was quite timid during the press conference. Just now he looked quite rough on the scales, not a lot of energy.
Conor used to look like he might actually die at his FW weigh ins but they were some of his best performances. None of that stuff matters come fight night.

I think the play here is pre bet McMann and live hedge bet Pena after rd 1. Pena often gets taken down and loses rd 1 but she is always working from bottom position and somehow manages to out cardio her opponents, so could very well be the case against the 40 year old McMann, who also seems to have mental lapses as she tires.
I placed a big bet on Rountree by KO in Round 1. It seems like the most likely outcome but I hate when someone is as inconsistent as Rountree.

I respectfully disagree. Fading fighters with a bad weight cut generally worked in my favor. Important thing to note ofcourse is to compare it with their history. Fighters like Aldo en McGregor always seemed to be fine come fight night.

I don't know of anyone who's heard from EZ since he left.

Yeah it's a good thing he changed the stuff at least a little bit - he's so good he made it look legit.

who da fuc was crewman again, rings a bell

I have forgot this one as well.

Oh wow, blast from the past. I still remember Wannabet wearing an Iron Man mask to remain anonymous because he was a physician irl or something. Tailed him on his Korean Zombie dog pick over Poirier at the time. And I also remember him absolutely killing it on the Woodley vs Lawler card or Woodley vs Koscheck card, having multiple bets/parlays with Woodley itd, and making 9k with 1k.

EZ and mma goodfella were really good dudes and bettors too, the forum is really missing out on them. Crewman also rings a bell, but not sure what his thing was again. I think a troll/flamer?

Holy shit I can't believe I didn't @ you about this. My bad.

I'm getting old and my memory sucks for remembering all the long time guys here.

I'm still hanging around like a mistletoe after a Christmas party. How you guys doing? Big day for us gamblers I'm fucking pumped. Then championship games tomorrow. It's lit!

Nice av.

Tsarukyan opened at -190 vs Frevola. He's -1000 on some sites now.

I honestly haven't watched much tape on either, I remember Tsarukyan having a relatively close fight against Islam(he clearly lost, but it was competitive).

Frevola is predominantly a wrestler, but even if their wrestling cancels out, Tsarukyan should have an edge on the feet.

I'm looking to add 1 more bet, preferably a dog, and Frevola seems to have a bit of value @ nearly +600.

If Im not mistaken crewman was the original troll master even before the days of barrygood

Mmagodfella had some epic write ups breaking down fights
