International Parliament holds Joe Biden in contempt over Afghanistan

Nothing says America First like pulling out of a hostile foreign country and leaving American civilians behind.

Lmao, can you imagine having to say this after you bolted? Yes, we're trusting the Taliban to ensure safe passage for Americans

I doubt the Taliban would officially call to harm harm Americans, and other western people ( still dangeeous), why invite back the dragon and all. However, what about all those Afghan allies?

What a disgrace this is. Anyone making excuses for Dementia Joe is partisan cancer.

Leaving that gutter is the right move, no one other than MIC cronies dispute that, but this has to be one of the worst ways to do it.

Hi, Mr. Obtuse. How many posters have you tried to fight this week?

Exit was never going to go smoothly. And we both know it. Unfortunate reality of occupying a country for 20+ years.
Yea when we left Iraq under Obama all those USA citizens and Iraq’s that couldn’t leave was sad to see… oops

Its easy to blame others for your own failings. They knew we were going to pull out and waited until we did to try and pull their own out. Instead of admitting their failures they are blaming the US.

Wow. I've contended that withdrawing from Afghanistan would be ugly, no matter what, but I didn't know it was this bad. There are some heroic people doing some dangerous shit to save people from the Taliban over there. I can't imagine living that nightmare.

Pentagon Slammed For Keeping US Troops Back Amid UK, French Rescues In Afghanistan

The Defense Department has come under heavy criticism this week for keeping US forces holed up at Kabul’s international airport while other Western nations’ special forces dash into the Taliban-controlled city to rescue their citizens and Afghan allies.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that the British government had dispatched 300 elite troops and other officials to Afghanistan in an attempt to bring out 6,000 UK nationals and other eligible Afghans. On Monday, the UK’s Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that rescue operations had begun Saturday night and the first evacuation flight carrying around 200 Brits had set off.

You're better than this lol

We've already told the Brits we don't care what Parliament says or does, we had a war over it.

At least we’re winning the woke olympics…

lol

Did Biden write a stern letter in response yet? You know… to show them we mean business…

He could always fire off a tweet instead.

What about the republicans who created the whole mess to begin with

Joe Biden let down the international community, all major US allies, and the most vulnerable in Afghanistan, the women and kids. This is beyond anyone's understanding of failure. They still have US civilians over there, stranded. This is crazy, and both sides are turning on Joe Biden. Even the Media. While i'm not naive, and I know this is deeper than the surface, the surface level of failure is still there for all to see.

The exit was botched. Debate has been had pretty much everywhere debate can be had. Most people think that the plan was horrible. I would go a step further: the government lied, and continues to lie, about what we were leaving behind.

That being said, where has been the foresight from the UK side of things? The date was set some time ago, and the world knew it was coming, if they had checked the damn news. This guy is still talking about ‘patience’ and nation building in 2021, and saying, ‘the whim of one leader’ (a lie), when the US has put so many lives, so much money, and time into something — a project nobody wanted — that was never going to go. It’s over.

call the queen and ask for war.

Yeah.... no. believing what politicians say in the media would be a terrible way to run a country imo .

2 weeks ago Biden said it'd be fine , basically impossible the entire country would be over run... and nothing like Saigon... maybe they listened to him on the news that time?

You're better than this lol
Than to say that over a years time was enough for other countries to prepare and start their own withdrawals?

Prepare? This happened too fast for any preparation, based on stranded civilians etc. Do you think this was handed well?

I think this is what happens at the end of failed occupations. The failed occupation is 100% on America. We had the date set for May extended it 3 months. Yes these other countries blaming the US for their failures to start withdrawals until the US finally pulled the trigger to start their own, is on those countries and their politicians.

No. If America want's to play word police, the expectation is they will be a leader. Everyone knows this. They pulled the carpet out, literally ,and abandoned everyone, including their own people. Can you imagine how South Korea and Taiwan feel? This is disastrous, especially with China on the rise already.

Without talking too much about the political trap that was set by Trump. Biden could either indefinitely extend American occupation or pull out. Either one would be viewed as a political failure here. America invaded a country that was already in a civil war. Instead of backing the side that opposed the Taliban, America installed a weak puppet government. When America left there was going to be a power struggle with the Taliban.

The time table was set and the World knew we were going to leave. Imo America should have pulled out long ago. The occupation was bullshit to start with. For over 10 years there was no real mission for our troops. The fact that other countries did not order their own civilians to leave the country during the 18 month period that they knew was coming is a failure on their own politicians.

Unless you support war for other countries resources, there is no benefit for America to continue to occupy Afghanistan. The cost of the occupation and the lives of American troops was too high. For a country full of people that yell about their freedom all the time, many those same people seem to want to enforce the will of America on other countries.

I stand by my words.

Only a psychopath could support the way Joe Biden withdrew from Afghanistan.

Feel free to point out what should have been done to make it better.
