How Did You Score the Fight?

Yep.

This shit is really unprofessional for a "promoter" to do.

And that's why ufc is stagnet. If they had a respectable person running things. Ufc would be more main stream by now. Ufc peaked in the gsp. Silva and jj era. And has been stagnet ever since. Dana always lets his feeling dictate the ufc.

Lol since when having a body triangle for 4 minutes without even attempting a sub should be scored a 10-8?
What score are you gonna give for a real completely onesided domination on the ground? 10-4?

It was like 4 minutes and 30 seconds of the most dominant position in MMA. I'm just going by the criteria and the rules.

like what the fuck am i watching.... what is this judging thats going on.....the sport is going up and the judging is going down hill.... how did Sterling win round 1 ? He was being stalked the entire round.... since when did he manage to win it? by doing what? He took some huge strikes towards the end of the first round and he won it?

I also thought i was about to throw up when i heard "it might be a 10-8 round" during the sterling body locks.... are you kidding me? 10-8? by doing what? People are going crazy recently with these decisions and the scoring, leg kicks winning championships over head strikes, body locks winning belts, we going to see Stockton slap winning the belt soon at this rate shit is hella cringe.

The easiest rounds 1-4-5 you will see in your life how you can fuck this up i will never comprehend.
Yan let Aljo enjoy two east breezy rounds, after doing the usual “take the 1st round off” and yes, he lost the fight.

he should have had the Round 4 energy from the jump, and spare us the “I was robbed” whining and confused “ I won round 2”

rnd 1 is a 10-10 feeling out rnd
fight is a draw

Yan almost got finished in the 2nd taking a bunch of heavy gnp from Aljo that was a 10-8 round.

You're such a fucking donut lmfao. Failure to cope that Aljo clearly won three rounds.
Yan is the better fighter. Aljo is the smarter fighter.

Don’t hate the player hate the game.

It's so dangerous that only the choke can finish you, which it obviously didn't.

You think only a choke can be applied there? Interesting. Yan went full defense, and to his credit, his defense is top notch. Problem is, you do not win fights going full defense when you are not in a dominant position. Which is why he lost that round regardless of anything happening. Objectively speaking from an MMA POV, the position is dangerous because it forces you to get out, or you forfeit the round.

Given the UFC scoring criteria r1 should have been scored Yan
That being said r2 should have been 10-8.

47-47 was the rightful score.
48-47 yan was the UFC score without a 10-8.
48-46 Sterling was my score
How was round 2 a 10-8? What are you smoking? Controlling a position doesn’t make the round a 10-8x you have to do a lot of significant damage

Lol at body triangle a position pretty much just for stalling as being good as moount

If you think it's only used for stalling then you've just never done any serious grappling. You can use it to set up a variety of subs.

And it is as strong a position than mount in terms of grappling, maybe even more so considering it's a lot easier to get out of mount than a back body triangle.

I think it's more he knows Sterling is a dud champion to sell, so he's going the "bad decision" angle, even though it really wasn't that bad.

Without getting close to a single sub for 4:30...
How would you score Khabib vs Barboza type of beatings on the ground then? When the guy gets up and looks like he had a car accident?

I was rooting for Petr, but props to Aljo. He looked a lot better than the last fight. I can't argue with the decision, it was a close fight that could've gone either way. I'd like to see Yan work his way up and get a rematch. There's no denying that he's had some bad luck.

Still better than a missed punch which does nothing. If a fight where nothing is happening you have to count those.

Like I said more than 90%+ of the time those submission attempts don't do damage. The "damage" is not enough to be counted. Those chokes that Aljo attempted today were doing nothing. Your concept of submissions is flawed. If they legit scored points for failed sub attempts then fighters would be abusing it trying to milk it trying to win rounds from it. A RNC on the chin does nothing. An armbar or a triangle does nothing when it's not hooked in properly. It just looks bad as a viewer when Rogan screams "IT"S IN TIGHT".

I can't remember Khabib Barboza at the moment I think I ahd a 10-8 in there i'm unsure though.
It's not really my scoring i'm going off though i'm just stating the criteria and rules.

I am not arguing that aljo didnt win the rd or the fight. Just saying that is not a 10 8. This is my main argument.

Are you saying I'm ignoring that? I'm not because that's still essentially the same position, even if the opportunity to strike is way better.

Like, even from that face down pummeling, there's still no stronger position ALjo could've advanced to.

nah i replied to the wrong person lol, my b

Because 10 - 8s are not given for stalling static positioning.
Yan should have fought out of those bad positions and not whine after the fact or throw blows after the horn.
Yan is the “better” fighter. Aljo is the “smarter” fighter
