International Putin absolutely BODIED America in recent interview

We have seen over the past few days that President Biden is more than capable of dealing with Putin

oh, the full interview is up? thanks ts. have to watch this.
my gripe with the way western journalist interview him is that they do it like they would an american politician, with highlight on guilt and emotion. this is completely wasted on a guy like putin, whose internal mechanism simply does not respond to this, thus allowing him to do the whataboutisms which are sadly not easily rebuked.
again, haven't watched the clip yet, so maybe i am wrong.

He was also pretty swift to point to Ashley Babbit when American reporters criticised his approach to his political opponents at the press conference.
It's kinda funny watching journalists continue to try to frame him through their own, somewhat myopic, moral lenses. Trying to shame him for acts that he's proud enough of to not have put much effort in hiding that he committed them.

He also kinda has a point. America's not exactly lower on the list of global threats than is Russia.

yeah, i watched it, it's nothing new, putin is good about staying on message, time and time again, he's very steady.

- he makes a very good point that the entire world is wondering about - the most important part of foreign policy is predictability. what guarantee do we have that if your next president will be from the other party that he won't revert all that his predecessor did? what incentive does that give us to try to negotiate and change things if when the next president comes, it's all back to zero again? this is a very good point and everybody in europe is planning accordingly. where do you think this whole idea of strategic autonomy comes from? from this shit.
- he is using whataboutism very effectively. there not one instance that he uses that can be combated.
- time and time again, the american journalists use quotes from american presidents like they are the revealed truth and are completely baffled when world leaders like putin tell them that's just one side of the story. to be effective, american journalists need to move away from this childish us-centric view of the world, and focus on real data. "oh president biden said you have no soul" is just a stupid thing to focus on, cause it gives putin the chance to look the mature one by not going "well he's a senile old fart" as retort, and just do the diplomatic answer of saying he doesn't remember the episode.
-a lot of the interview questions focus on the emotional side. this doesn't work anywhere east of Viena, and it's just proof of how emotion-based american politics has become that journalists from the US simply cannot function outside the "but how would you feel if.." paradigm. asking a russian president how he would fell if things got hard is only an opportunity for him to boast about how much he can withstand. western journalists simply cannot comprehend that. they go home write the piece about how putin is an unfeeling monster, everybody around them clutch the pearls, while the guy is strengthened at home by this interview, since hey look, the americans said i am a tough killer sonofabitch. totally dumbass ignorant tactics from americans. no wonder they are losing every war that involves even the slightest knowledge of local cultures.

Americans like to deny they do dirty shit up until they can't avoid the truth, then they rationalize it as necessary, and somehow believe it's our right and nobody else's. Or so it seems.

Yup. But we muricans think we're always right lol.

Obama was arming radical jihadists and contributed to the genocide of half a million Syrians.

Spare me your outrage.

Alot of presidents done that.. corruption like always.

Try to do some more research on Syria.

The conflict in Syria was completely about something else.

I guess you haven't read a news story about Northern Syria.
This was just in 2013.
Islamic law comes to rebel-held areas of Syria
A Rebel Fighter Sees Islamic Law In Syria's Future

Yeah we wont agree. I have researched Syria in depth

I suspect you either are an Alawite or just so Pro Russian you are defending an ally. My solution is to partition Syria, it would be a hell of a lot safer and more stable

Syrian Christians love Assad. He actually protects minority groups.

The people actually do like the guy

The Sunnis dont. So partition the country

This will be Assads undoing

Well said. He is what he is and our journalists flail when he reacts like he does. It’s like being surprised at a shark acting like a shark and not a dolphin.

I'm American and love my country. With that said, we're being divided and can't stand each other these days. We're being ripped apart from within. Sadly it's only a matter of time before we fall unless we wakeup, I don't see that happening.

Greed, money, power and the fact that our heads are stuck so far up our asses are the reason.

Russians can teach us a thing or two about socialism/communism. There seems to be a lot of Americans that want it. Dumbasses are clueless.

Putins a strong smart leader which is why they don't like him..
They don't want another Yeltsin!

Look at the parties in Russia.. after Putin's United Russia party which is listed as a big tent (broad spectrum of political ideology) there is the far-left communist party, then a far-right Liberal Demcratic Party

That far right liberal party is a Putin puppet party and ultra nationalist.

The communists are socially right wing

What? Ukraine and Israel have nothing to do with this topic.

you say a sovereign state should be split up cause of the internal conflict within between different groups...

so would you consider same approach with countries like ukraine and israel cause they're dealing with similar issues

Most Sunnis have no problem with Assad.

the insane extremist pro ISIS Sunnis can pound sand and await their just punishment.

they chose poorly.

Well if that's really how he feels he can step to this American might and see wtf happens.

We've had nuclear weapons for decades now and I think our country has proven that we only hold them to deter others from making them.

Who the fuck wants The peoples "republic" of china going nuclear? No one.

We aren't perfect but Putin needs to prove to the world that he isn't a dictator and actually gives a fuck about something other than maintaining his power hold over Russia.

We are top dogs, king dingalings, the king of the hill. We don't need to prove anything to anyone.

Who's we bro? You haven't done anything and you know it
