UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Sakai

Hey Sherbros, didn't want to make a thread for it, but is Bet365 wonky for anyone else? I made a bunch of bets a couple of days ago, mostly on Euro Cup, but they won't show up in the "My Bets" section... Have to look in the account menu under history, but there is no cash out option there...

Wonky for anyone else?

Yeah they have had some issues the past few days, check b365's twitter. I think all the traffic they had for the Champions League game on Saturday probably messed the site up a little but it seems like it's getting fixed.

If you want an opinion, give an opinion, tape it yourself and research it properly then comeback. If you don't have a read on it then asking a bunch of questions on the fight is going to be worthless, you're just looking for someone else to do the work.

Half this forum are guys like that, the uproar when Sadistics stopped posting his bets was hilarious lol

I didnt realize I had to clear my questions with you. All you do is start arguments with everyone the last couple of threads have people arguing with you and now you picking a fight with me. Get a life man you're first ever person going on my ignore list congrats.

Mods need to boot you cause all the good posters are leaving tired of losers like you always looking to pick a fight

RIP sherdog forums

<mma1>

I used to spend a lot of time here. There was a lot of garbage before but now it’s truly a dump.
I was here before you two. And nothing dumb for laughing at a 47% prediction rate from a guy who trashes other users.

I swear you guys are all literally the same person, its like a troll bot spawns every four comments.

He is default troll #1 nothing of value will be posted from him .

Good posters leave because it's a public forum, therefore a magnet for useless freeloaders that wreck lines before they can get down the money they want.

Interesting comments from Mason Jones himself. He's feeling the reduction in calories from his weight cutting. He's still over a week out from his fight. He talks about how he felt last Wednesday May 26 & the day he made this video which was Thursday May 27. I'll give it to him though. He's an honest open book.

Start at the 44 second mark. He talks about how terrible he feels & how he skipped a morning practice. All throughout the video he talks about how he doesn't feel very well. I like the way he fights. I hope he starts feeling better. It's very concerning.

Francisco Trinaldo vs Muslim Salikhov:

Trinaldo looked how you would expect a 42 year old fighter to look like. He looked gassed after round 1, sloppy body language and sloppy defence despite being able to win.

Salikhov's takedown defence is kind of sus and his boxing defence is not great against overhand punche; which Trinaldo threw a lot last fight.

If I had to pick I would pick Salikhov but I am not playing this one, feels like a trap either way

Typical weight cut

semi off topic and I don’t wanna make a thread or anything but do you guys use Fight Pass to tape fights? I’m getting tired of youtube highlight comps and their shitty music and I probably smoke too much to rely on my memory of fights

don’t feel like spending $10/month but figure I spend at least that on a couple dumb parlays every card

If you are betting on fights it's a given that you would have fightpass to watch who you plan on betting on. Going from youtube & memory is insane. It only makes sense if you are playing with an account with a couple hundred dollars in it & are only making $1-$10 bets. Actually, that doesn't even make sense. If your going to do something. Do it right. If you are in a dire financial situation and can't afford $10 a month you probably shouldn't be betting on fights to be honest. Join a fantasy league with fake money. Once you get good at winning & judging how much to bet & when to bet then you can start using real money. If you win in fantasy you should win in real life. Just do the same thing. Play the same way. If it helps pretend you're still playing fantasy. Do whatever it takes to win.

I have no idea who he bet on, but if let's say 75% of my bets were underdogs and hit 47% and lost 53%, I'd be making good $.

I knew a guy who only bet NFL moneyline underdogs, that's it. Never point spreads, never favorites (no other sports that I know of). Only dogs on the ML. His win % was under 40% (I can't remember it exactly but I think around 35%) but he made amazing ROI. He lived in Vegas (now lives in Colorado but back then in Vegas) and he actually got banned from a couple sportsbooks out there. He was betting $15-$20k per game iirc (but I think it was him and a couple other guys who went in together, at least for some of the time he was out there).

Anyway, point is that win % really means jack shit, it's ROI that matters.

Truer words were never spoken. Hey, do you know what happened to JimmGunn? I haven't been on this board the last 6 months or so. I noticed that neither has he. A few other posters appear to be gone as well. Did they move to a more filtered forum?

For anyone who's taped Zalal/Woodson and is taking Zalal can you tell me what you see? Seems to be a very popular dog this week

Go watch the Zalel vs Austin Lingo fight. Same game plan will be implemented vs Woodson. In regards to his last fight vs Choi. Choi has much better TD defense than both Lingo & Woodson. I forgot to add a twist. Zalal is no longer training with James Krause & has moved over to Sanford MMA with Henri Hooft. Woodson is now training with Krause & will come prepared to deal with Zalal's game plan. I just don't think Woodson's TD defense will be good enough.

Jim stopped posting awhile back, I'm honestly not sure why. IDK which others specifically you're talking about but I don't know about any other forum that guys migrated to from here.

There aren't many of the truly long time guys left. @Oblivian is the original, he actually made the threads in the heavies (now the UFC forum) before there was an MMA betting subforum. But yeah a lot of the old timers are long gone.

Sadistics. I remember he had good takes on fights. I guess JimGunn & Sadistics are who I was thinking of. Maybe a few others that I can't recall at the moment. Glad to see you here mkess101.

Sadistics still posts here and there but yeah not like before. Really doesn't post picks/bets that I know of. I think he maybe is charging for picks somewhere? Thought someone said that but I could be wrong.

I like the over 1.5 in the main event, Sakai is tough as fuck, all Rozenstrucks quick wins in the UFC were against guys with questionable chins, I don't think Sakai falls into that category.

My biggest issue with Sakai is their performance against Overeem/Arlovski as a measuring stick. Sakai was finished/and received a split against Andrei. and Rozen won via knockout on both. While this is simple mma math, its definitely something to say who has more stopping power. Also the 80+ kick boxing fights makes Rozen far more experience on the feet, he keeps it methodical and paces himself like a vet. The two fighters he lost to had two key ingredients to beating him.

1.Previous experience in muay thai to match Rozen.
2.F-U punching power.

While Sakai has a high ko ratio, majority of his finishes are tko punches ground and pound that came from knockdowns or foot sweeps. But most of his knockdowns were done in the clinch, something Rozen knows a lot about as a Muay thai fighter.

Currently, Rozen has 6 ' ko punches' finishes, these are the type of kos that knock you out on the feet. I truely believe he is a much more better boxer. He knows how to put more force into his power and wait for those key moments to exploit.

So with that being said, the last thing to check is Sakai's brown belt in bjj and his wrestling, Sakai has 3 takedowns, almost all of them foot sweeps. These are all muay thai foot sweeps that Sakai learned from his amatear Thai boxing days in brazil, techniques I think Rozen knows himself, as muay thai fighters have knowledge in some aspects, another fighter for example Lookaboom. So banking on a ground finish when Rozen Thwarted Overeem's passes, I think Rosen can nulify Sakai's ground game, and he has an 80% tdd.Something you can credit to practicing Muay thai.

I have about 4 pros for Rozen and 2 pros for Sakai. Sakai having more mma experience and bjj.

But i believe Rozens' history against strikers is better, his grappling defense even or enough, and his previous experience in other combat sports the final plus.

The likely hood here is Rozen winning a UD, unless Sakai pulls out a trump card and we see his grappling come alive and he steals a ground control victory. And that is a big maybe.

Go back long enough and Oblivion used to congratulate winners after every event, that's how small it was. Wasn't any bitching and trolling back then either. Good times

Yeah I got fight pass the day after that post, it’s been nice being able to actually tape fights instead of watching crap on youtube, feel so dumb not doing this a long time ago

He seemed to be losing a lot in the end. Maybe he just quit.
