It actually makes sense. They should have taken the opportunity to add 165 and shift WW to 175 when Tyron was still champ and GSP was coming back. They could have fought to determine the GOAT 170 (GSP of course) and retire the belt. Add 175 and 165.

As I've told you- AS FAR AS WEIGHT GOES- Conor is in permanent purgatory.
This is ANOTHER lightweight fight where the participants are repudiating weight cut and "bleep" it.... let's call it a welterweight fight .
However - NOT MERIT- but in the world of eyes and attraction, Conor's name has earned any fight conditions.

I m siding with Chandler unless Conor pulls a Lesnar-Hunt deal. I will not make a wager until I see Conor walk into cage.

I'm not accusing Conor of anything- in fact- hes been a clean fighter throughout his career but it's really tough to ignore what he looks like recently ..... and this could be his last fight.

All in all - should be a competitive fight

Im guessing they will do the fight on the July PPV, its the biggest fight they can do currently and they like to try and make International fight week as big as possible.

The announcement says the season runs until mid August and they're fighting afterwards. So it can't be the July PPV.

Probably the September one.

If not now the UFC will eventually do a 165lb division once they run out of shit to hype up. I would be good with it. They could fill that division fast just take the biggest lightweights and the smaller welterweights and voila!

Small chance but not likely.

Michael is getting this fight because he is an entertaining fighter. But he is also very hittable and that plays into conor's strengths. Chandler is fairly durable so it will be fun while it lasts. Expect a similar outcome to the Eddie fight but with Chandler having some moments but eventually falling.

BTW wasn't conor out of the testing pool when he was using steroids to "recover" ?

Should be a pretty good test to see where Conor is at. Chandler's style is tailor made for him. If he can't succeed against him, that's probably it as an elite fighter.

Fuck a 165lb weight class. There's a 60lb weight gap after LHW through HW.
If there should be any new division it lies within there
