Yeah, the old adage "money doesn't buy happiness" isn't just for show. People gotta stop thinking that fame and money will just magically make everything better.

He really needs to try and get some anti depressant meds to see if it helps him or dosent cause this is starting to look scary from the outside.

That's kind of the problem though. Let's say you DO decide you want help and you ask your doctor. Odds are, he's going to write you a scrip for an antidepressant. Ok cool, now roll a dice. But not like a normal six sided die, one of those nerdy 20 sided D&D ones. Do you get MORE depressed along with suicidal ideation? Violent urges and impulses, breaks from reality akin to being blackout drunk? Hallucinations? Hey maybe you lose all your emotions and you're not even really sure if you're alive anymore?


OR maybe you get none of these horrific side effects (or one of the many, many others), just a very minor lessening of symptoms. Ok... now what? You're still depressed. Ok, so now you see a therapist. Go over years of intense trauma with a stranger. They tell you... you're fucked up because of all the trauma and/or genetic factors. Thanks doc but I'm crazy not stupid, I knew that already. It's tough because a lot of people say go get help probably meaning well and thinking there's some process you can go through and go back to being a normal person, but it really isn't that simple even when you know that you need help and what the exact problems are.

That's tough, the fact that he admitted it kind of implies he's open to help at this point though. A lot of people that are dangerous to others won't admit that.

I figure all mma fighters are a little off center to begin with.

I probably won't be jumping in here. Mental health is no joke, but Sean's act is. After decades working in MH study and treatment, something I was always taught is that people's behaviors can be somewhat explained by their issues, but not at all excused by them. Ya don't kick a man when he's down, but I also don't hesitate in kicking a hypocrite. I hope that piece of shit finds happiness

I am entirely sympathetic. were I close to him I would certainly advise therapy and also medication(s) to stabilize him mentally. I know I am commenting on the sidelines but I've seen enough of this shit in my own life to say that he most probably needs such a two-fold approach here. It's not something you just "talk through" or "punch out" as if any amount of deep emotional trauma and consequent mental instability can be addressed that way, only deferred. and of course money never buys happiness.

I think he needs professional help, but it's easier said than done.
