UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Cruz

4 names stand out right off the hop for me

Bruno Silva
Onama
Benitez
Quinlan

All 4 likely finish imo

They are all a lot better than their opponents...
No disrespect to Landwehr, but he's not very durable. Bruno might decapitate GM3, Benitez gets matched up with one of the worst male fighters on the roster in Ontiveros, and Quinlan is a heavy hitter vs Witt who has no chin.

I'm on the mother of all cold streaks at the moment so take what I say with a pinch of salt but I think Lucindo is being very undervalued here.

I'm a fan of both girls but I haven't seen Jauregui tested by a serious grappler and Iasmin showed an excellent top game against DWCS Lucrezia Ria with an immense variety of takedowns.

She's also coming down from 125 where she beat not only Ria but UFC vet Sara Frota so she's used to grappling bigger girls.

She's got some losses but she's only about 21 and most of the losses are from when she was 16 or so (she turned pro at 15 believe it or not) and she's absolutely incredibly experienced for her age.

I would offer that Yasmin is a very good boxer and if she can't get her down then she's in trouble but watching the Ria fight has me thinking that she can.

I'm riding Onama until the wheels fall off. The guy showed me something in his DWCS fight against a bigger opponent on short notice that stuck with me. His opponent is not on his level.

I refuse to believe Cruz can go 5 hard rounds vs. A guy who will attack his legs and can walk through every strike. Cruz also has been rocked in 2 of his last 3 fights since his comeback. I think he sees Vera as too slow and that's probably going to be true for a couple rounds, but Vera will wear him down.

Does anyone have a gateway into an alternate universe where meerschart beats Bruno Silva?

No,but I thought the same about Muradov.

Also based on just about beating Dylan Potter (who got absolutely mashed on the PFL last week) while failing a USADA test does anyone see Brzeski having any chance against Buday?

Bruno hurts him on the feet, Meer falls, Bruno follows him to the ground, Bruno gets cocky and Meer submits him with triangle choke.

Yea I mean sub is his only ptv, but how many times is that happening?
Not very often but Bruno has 5 losses by sub and Meer as 26 wins by submission. Bruno clearly has issues on the ground. I still think he KO's Meer. No one thought Meer would beat Muradov but he did.

So what kind of deal Skinny bets has with the fighters on this card this time? I see Onama is on the card, maybe Onama decision? Quinlan is the type of guy that would do that kind of shady deals knowing his passion to Maybe Quinlan decision? Ontiveros is suspicious too but I think Benitez does with him what ever he wants so it doesn't matter.

Was there some kind of wonky mma-math thinking going on with the bookies when they priced Onama vs Landwehr? Onama got beat by Mason Jones, Mason Jones got beat by Ludovit, and Ludovit got beat by Landwehr. I thought the -190 openen was pretty nice for him. Way heigher ceiling, and at least doesn't seem too much of a mental midget.

Onama was short-notice vs Jones and Jones was also very short-notice vs Ludovit like 9 days I believe

I'm not saying he'll beat Onama but if you don't clip him hard with something Landwehr is a tough out. Don't forget the dude outhustled Darren Elkins and went 5-0 against solid Russian comp in M-1 Global.

He's a bit wild which cost him against Erosa and Burns, but he's switched camp since those fights (MMA masters now I think) and I thought he looked really good against Klein.

Other than the bigger Jones he's for sure Onama's toughest test to date.

Landwehr is a wild guy in and out of cage but he is super solid in everything and absoluely outclassed Klein in rds 2 and 3. If you take Onama take him by ko.
I like Nate and want him to win so Id like to stay away from betting this but if I wasnt biased Id probably still take him here.

No to mention Onama hasnt really been fighting top competition and while the finishes were nice the performances were not too clean either.

Yeah very short notice and up a weightclass. He also didn't look bad at all. Sometimes a loss doesn't give the whole story.

I think Klein was just way too big for 145 and he had to cut a ridiculous amount which made him gass really hard. Klein even looks huge at 155 and had a much better performance last two times out, where he was the underdog twice and won!

That said, Landwehr did look pretty impressive in his last fight. He can really push a pace and is not afraid to get hit. He will always fight for your money.
